Hey,

I'm moving tomorrow and I'm gonna eventually need broadband. It's a non cable area so that rules out Virgin. Does anyone here use BeThere and have any speedtests or anything for it? Also if you'd like to reccomend me another ISP please do.

Thanks

BeThere are the best out there IMO.

Fastest speeds and best customer service.

Just make sure its available in your area.

If you do a lot of torrents use sky. If not then BeThere is a good ISP. What ever you do don't get Tiscali.

Whack your new postcode in there http://www.samknows.com/broadband/checker2.ph
If you can get Be and you live in a reasonable distance from the exchange then go for it.

I think that's because you can't get those LLU services, but can get them through BT Wholesale. I'm not sure, mine are all crosses. :P

Link to your exchange? AOL, Tiscalli etc. will probably be BT wholesale services. Samknows is usually very accurate.

Be are very good for torrents as they do no traffic shaping, I always get full speed for my torrents (700kb/s) only get 6mb due to line length and would recommend anyone to join them due to this.

Be are great. I get about 1MB (8Mb) download and 130KB upload. My download speed is a third of what we are paying for (3MB or 24Mb) but it's plenty fast I find. Their customer service is good and they have a forum for tech support, service updates and stuff like that.

My experience of Be*'s tech support was a faint, distant, crackly phone lined Indian sounding man. I can't remember what it was for - i was ringing for a friend but it ended up sorted anyways. He's on the "Pro" package. His downstream gets 10-12Mbps and upload streams around 1.7-1.9Mbps so it's not too bad.

Bit of a bump but I ordered Be earlier this week and my modem is being delivered on Tuesday but nobody will be in, so it'll be Wednesday. And I get activated on Thursday ;) And I've also ordered an ADSL faceplate off ADSL Nation.

Til Thursday I'm using my Bluetooth dongle to use my phones 3G on my laptop. Amazingly fast speeds can be seen in my sig ;)

They seem to limit me to 10kb/s between 4 and 11pm. Port forwarding doesn't help because they don't actually forward even though it says they are on the router :S

in uTorrent it's Options > Preferences > BitTorrent > Change the outgoing protocol encryption to forced and make sure the allow incoming legacy connections box is ticked.

The router (BeBox) and filters etc came today. Supposed to be activated Thursday, plugged it in, bang I'm on.

£18 p/m gets you:
