Should we replace the Space Skin with a Non Habbo Light Skin

Hey everyone!

Many users have been asking for a non-Habbo light skin recently. However we simply have way too many skins, as it is there are about 12 different colors that don't show up on one skin or another and also having too many skins makes it hard on the backend side, and additionally it makes it look like we just put up a hundred skins. With every new skin each skin is less special, and each new skin means less.

So what we have decided is that while we will not be adding skins, if demand is significant we will remodel, renovate, or replace skins. A lot of people have been asking for a non-Habbo light skin. The most sensible skin to remove seems to be the Space Skin (since it is least used) or the retro blue skin which is not that widely used.

However we don't want to assume when we replace a skin entirely, so we want your feedback! Should we add a Non-Habbo Light skin at all? If so, what should it replace? Cast your vote, and post your comment if you like!

I dont really use anything outside of the classic skin though I'd like to see what it would look like so I am all for it replacing the space skin which I've never seen anyone use.

I highly doubt the Site Skin would be removed as it is fairly new and fairly popular. Also theres always been a site skin for ages, to my knowledge.

The light-non-habbo skin but not necessarily be blue anyway ;) We already currently have two blue skins and the retro-blue skin is a favourite by many.

The Space Skin is really hard to maintain backend wise, as the templates are edited meaning that updates can sometimes be ignored on it (I know I kept forgetting to update templates on it cause it ran a different set to the rest of the forum).

Plus I remember the Retro Blue Skin being popular, that's why we added the new Blue Skin alongside it. So I say Space Skin. Sorry Slowpoke...

I really dislike the site skin one :P It's far too grey and looks unfinished. The bit which says "Today 10:30" for example should be a pale orange to match the bit that says "Thread tools" etc. All the posts seem to be merged together, rather than seperated, which is why the grey just doesn't seem to work for me. The content of the posts doesn't even look right, it merges too much with the users name, rank, rep power, posts etc.

Not sure yet but it isn't even December yet!!! :P We are looking into refurbeshing the blue one too make it more better. It should be staying as one of the modern skins though

Myself, Professor-Alex and Yonder454 are avid users, I just thinks its a shame to remove a skin - Especially after it's been around for so long. Maybe it's not as popular but I'm sure you lot would hate it if you're favourite skin was removed. That's the problem, the site skin is basic while the forum skin isn't. I've designed forum skins before, and know that site and forum skins should be similar, but not based on exactly the same look. The site skin doesn't have additional sections like time, date, profiles etc. Keeping it grey really does look unfinished... Surely a very pale orange, which isn't the same tone as the main images would be better? The grey looks gastly!

The thread page view definitely needs something to divide each little bit into sections. Maybe changing the pale grey/white to a darker colour would work? I guess whoever designs the skins has got bad colours to work with.

I agree about setting site skin to default as it is supposed to represent the site.
But definately don't remove classic. As it's classic, Loads of people use it because they are used to it and prefer it :).

They don't have to look the same. The classic skin is from when the forum was first made I beleive and the site is updated whenever theres a new site layout to match that as much as possible.

I'll try some things out however, ultimately, it isn't down to me. I helped out a fair bit with the site skin but wasn't allowed to change the colours etc. You will notice that future skins or referb skins will have better colour choice as really only the site skin HAS to be certain colour.

I don't know the statistics but am sure that more people use it than the space skin. It is also much easier to maintain and update.

I just wanted to add we offer a lot more skins that most other Habbo forums so removing one shouldn't cause that much disruption really? When theres a fair few to choose from?

All the skins have non-Habbo options, ie. retro blue would work fine with non-Habbo icons.

It's the fact that it says "Yes, but replace a different skin", people don't immediately think "oh, I don't use the pink one" they just think about the first one they see, which is the Space Skin. I really hope management don't remove it. :'(

Hopefully management will base the removal on the amount of people that use the skin and consider the amount of people that have defended the Space Skin too because quite a few have - I honestly think that the least used skin is the Pink skin (although the statistics are obviously more accurate than my thoughts and opinions:P) and since nobody has defended that one, it would make more sense to remove it (maybe even make another poll which includes all skins excluding classic and site to be more fair so we get a more accurate vote and then the Space Skin and Retro Blue skin have a fighting chance).

Besides all that, I would prefer for them to just keep them all, I don't like the idea of people being unhappy because the only skin they use is being removed. Even if the Pink skin was to be removed, it still has its users and they may not like any other.

It may be you really love the new skin but I cant make it nice if people just complain and suggest why other skins are bad and should be removed.
