Ok so im doing this thing in history and were always talking about political dictators but theres just one problem. I dont understand what a politcal dictator is. i Asked my teacher but she just threw loads of facts at me and it really confused me so could you make it simple so i can understand it. +Rep to anybody who answers my question

A person who is in charge and changes the rules/laws so that they will remain in power. Then you can't vote them out and get someone else as leader. They are controlling and generally associated with evil people. Hitler, Saddam Husain, Robert Mugabe and Stalin are/were dictators me thinks.

dictator-absolute ruler who holds a lot of personal power to make laws.usually dictator is labelled as bad people.i think

They aren't always bad though, and in some places (ie: the middle east and much of Africa) dictatorships work a lot better than democracy.
