Speakers aren't working!

Just got a custom built PC, and my speakers aren't working with it lol - typical?

The sound card I think is called SoundMAX, I've checked the settings, troubleshooted but it says its working fine.. it lies! All the wires for the speakers are correctly sorted etc. It just won't work.

Help please.

Is it seated properly?
Open device manager see if its there with or without the yellow !
Is up to date drivers installed?
Try alternative speakers

Most importantly, is the volume on?

Yeah, the settings are correct. I've checked the device manager + all that - it says everythings working, but its not! :(
I will have to buy some alternative speakers soon, but I'll be annoyed if its the actual PC.

I've checked all that. Nothings on mute. :(
