Basically I want to edit a song and take out some instrumental to make it shorter.

Like deleting a part of the song out.

I know theres probably a tool for this and its right under my nose haha, just i can't really think of it.
A little help please? (:

PS Sorry if this is wrong section!!

It's not possible to do it perfectly with compressed files, you can get a rough version but it usually still has backing vocals and the music is distorted. You can only do it with raw files from music studios and such (I believe).

Highlight the bit of the song you don't want and hit delete! If you don't know what something does, try it and see, you can always undo it if it isn't what you want :)

I don't get ya... there isn't any skill in zipping lol. Just extract it to your desktop or somewhere simple now, you can move it later if you need to. If you have winrar, just click "extract" and choose the desktop. if you don't, in XP you just hit "Extract all" on the left in the windows explorer window and choose the desktop. I don't know where it is in vista but it isn't hard!
