I took back the 40" Sony Bravia LCD TV that I bought for $1100. I am looking at a 46" Sony Bravia or a 50" Panasonic Plasma TV ($1200)
what one should I choose?

LCDs all the way. Less reflection because they use plastic to cover the screen, whereas plasmas use glass.
And search google next time..

LCD, with a Plasma, and seeing as your a teenager (I presume), you could knock it over, and it'll go rainbow style on your ass.

LCD, Plasma's can burn a picture into your screen. I was watching tv and clicked pause and came back when i pressed play I saw a shadow of the section that was paused. I believe this happens when you let it sit though. I have a 42" Sony Bravia. I had a 32, but that was for the basement and my games.

Plasma is a type of liquid-y, gas-y thing which can run out after a few years. The screen goes weird after a few years.
LCD FTW.
We went down to Comet yesterday night and bought a Sony Bravia 32" for £350. They are £400 at Argos, and £500 directly from Sony, so if you are looking for a new TV, this is one of the best deals out there.
Good luck. :)

OLED is awsome, but i can bet its through the roof in price. Go for LCD everyday anyday, its about setting it up right for a good picture.

LCD, plasmas are pretty dodgey, when I was at work exp. I almost made the mistake of putting one on its side whilst loading it up onto a stand..
