Well, lets start - Each console has their advantages and disadvantages

-Price
PS3 - £299
Xbox - £100-£300

-Graphics
Looks the same to me, through HDTVs that is

-Games
Xbox has far more games, but it has been out longer - DVD - 7gb i think
PS3 Uses blu-ray - 50gb

--- Games that are not PS3 exclusive do not harness the available disk space fully - Ususally this means that Xbox and PS3 are equivelant

--- Some games on PS3 seem to have more errors, weather this is the creators or a PS3 problem? A game for this would be Fallout 3 - The ps3 has some bad glitches, Xbox doesnt seem too

-Online
Xbox Live - £40 Per year
PS3 - FREE

From what i've heard from a friend (With PS3 AND XBOX) Xbox live is better and alot more fun, you pay for what you get (I dont really know about this though)

OVERALL

The PS3 is good if you watch lots of movies in HD - Blueray
Xbox is better if you prefer to watch DvDs and want a wider spectrum of games

But, dont competely listen to this, read some other none-bias reviews

if you own a ps3 you'll pick that and vice versa. I own a ps3 so obviously I think it's better.. But not just cus I own one. I'm already used to the controllers, gameplay is therefore easier. I have a big tv so I can make use of the bd movies. Psn is free and is about the same as xbox live. It just felt like the right choice lol. I'm still waitin for the possibilty for xbox vs ps3 online. That would just be awesome

I own both, I rarely touched my PS3, I touch my Xbox 360 a lot, I prefer it, I prefer the online features and such and it's just a lot better in my eyes. I don't like on PS3 how you can use your own mic so people have all cheap mics that you can't hear and Xbox has some good exclusives ;)

I'm probably going to be the only one in this thread that isn't biased, but I'm going to say the Xbox 360, and I can assure you, I don't even own one ;) The PS3 is good, but for gaming, the 360 is the best out of the two.

Aslong as the games i want come to ps3 im fine. only 2 games i wanted were.. lost planet and dead rising. but there both on ps3 and wii now. so im happy.

In my opinion. 360 got a head start when they released it a year before ps3. both my brothers are xbox fanboys. and all there friends have xboxs. so yea. i think its also part of. everyone wants the xbox because there friends have one.
bh i want sega to make a new console. Sega Genisis will always be my fave ^_^.

The PS3 at full harness would simply kick the 360 in to next week, just Sony ****** around too much and the devs would rather go multi platform.

360 Has more people online, more games, a better selection of games, it's cheaper and it's got a better controller

PS3 kicks the 360 right in between the legs as far as hardware goes but it's no good when it's near impossible to tell the difference between a PS3 and a 360 game apart from colours and contrasts, deveopers are making games with the 360 in mind so they're going to make a 360 game and put it on the PS3 so the PS3 will get a buggy ported game at the end of the day, also almost all the good exlusives the PS3 had are either multi-platform or beat down by another franchise xD

I'm going with PS3 in terms of hardware but the 360 is much more enjoyable, it has better games and better online

The lack of games still wont stop me buying a PS3 though

i think the lay out is easier to use just the nintendo style buttons - X, Y, A, B - get me as ive had a ps1 since release, i was about 3 i think. so i was more used to it before ps2 o and was a quote to brandom, did it by mistake

I have owned a PS3 and an Xbox 360.

Both were pretty good. I liked the PS3 because I did not have to pay for online services and it had a browser as well. However, I recently sold my PS3 and went for the Xbox 360 because it has in game instant messenging, seemingly more games available, achievements (which help keep the game flowing), and more of my friends at school had it. Whereas when I had the PS3, about 2 or 3 friends from school were on my list which was quite a shame.

So if I had to choose one, I'd go for the Xbox 360. I'm no fanboy or anything, but I've enjoyed my 360 far more than I did with my PS3.

I own neither console so I'm not bias but I have played them both extensively at a friends house. Personally I would say the PS3 for me is a better console. When the PS3 has an exclusive it usually stays exclusive for example I think LBP and MGS4 will for a long time. Many of the 360s top games on the other hand are released later on on the PC, the only game I can say that really intrests me on 360 is viva piniata which is on PC too. I personally find many 360 games overhyped such as Fable 2 and Halo 3. Both consoles to me seem to have a very limited range of games, most of them are based around guns although obviously that isnt the case for all of them. To be honest you shouldn't really listen to anyone, everyone has different views on games (For example I love the wii whereas many hate it), you should go out and play the consoles yourself to give you a better idea and then decide.

I get customers ask me this question all the time and it really does come down to personal opinion. Whichever benefits you'll find better suit you is the console to go for.

I got a PS3 because I've always had Playstations and I prefered the range of games on the PS3 because I'm not into first person shooters. Things like LBP are my cup of tea. Then when I'm not playing games I can watch blu-rays on a HDTV. A 360 wouldn't be suited to me because I'm not into having people shouting at me down a headset whilst blowing stuff up in Gow2. :P

err the ps3 didnt have that many games but it does now? so i see no grounds to your argument lol

and i guess the wii wasnt included because its not exactly next gen. Not HD gaming, just plain ordinary normal gaming. Not particularly 'hardcore'. mainly for partys.

Where the original 360 is cheaper than the ps3, it doesnt have: Built in wireless, Free online, Blueray, Re-chargeable battery back (ps3 = built in)

So you'll end up paying about the same, or more for the 360 :)

I also Tend to play the ps3 more, because thats the most popular console around my area :)

And the "more people play 360 online" i'd like to know how you came to that conclusion.

Remember though
Sony are ripping themselves off as it costs more to make it then they sell it whereas xbox are making a ton of profit.
Also from my experiance xbox breaks more? This guy had 3 xboxs and they all broke.
They only thing I really like is the fact xbox looks nicer in design, thats all I like about the xbox.

Also he might be true about that more people use xbox live as it's the cheaper console so they would buy that more likely.
