Small engine size (in CC) means cheap to insure.
That looks okay for a first car. :)

That's a decent first car, better than some of the crap you see driving around.
Thanks MissAlice, appreciate it :)!!!
It's a 2003 reg, 5 years old, 6 this January, lol.
1.3 Litre Engine and insurance, cheapest i've found was about £1700ish, plenty of time to keep looking though.

I've got one like that but blue, and a 1.4 engine :) Really good car to drive, a good buy me thinks!

I paid £2600 for it, I saw it for £2675, not much of a saving but better than nothing :D! I'm not entirely sure on the insurance, it keeps changing haha, Check out confused.com, gocompare, moneysupermarket, etc.. I did get a quote from Barclays for insurance for it... Nine and a half thousand pound :l

Keep checking every available site, I recently spent hours over the course of a week checking and checking as my insurance was up for renewal, it paid off in the end. There are also companies that allow you to be a named driver and still allow you to build up your no claims, that's providing of course that one of your parents is prepared to be the main policy holder, it could save you a small fortune. So do check them out thoroughly :)

Yeah, I will keep checking, I have plenty of time to browse about though. I saw a company that would insure the car whilst I was on a provisional licence for £800, I think it was £60 monthly, which isn't too bad for me at the minute as I could drive around with parents.
That sounds like a good idea, having parents as the main policy holder, although, Only my dad drives and he wasn't too keen of me getting the car in the first place, So i don't think that'll be a good idea, haha. Thanks for the suggestion though. :)

Insurance is rediculously high for males, and I do sympathise that they are all labelled as boy racers. But it seems to me you've bought something that you are proud of, and intend looking after, your father may come round in time and like the idea of helping you ;)
Anyway I've said enough :P

Finally a girl that sympathies =D all the girls I know went on and on about their insurence being low when mine originally for my Mini was £3,700. Luckily I did pass plus which drove the price down to £1500 and now I have had a year and nine months no claims it has gone down to £400 ... meanwhile the girls who I hang out with who have had accidents insurance has risen and have to pay more than me mwah.
But anyway to the thread starter: Nice car looks awesome =D good luck with your insurance
Edit: Oh yeah another way of making your insurence lower ... lie to the company that insures you and say you have a cheaper quote somewhere else see how low they'll go!

Indeed, it's really silly. You are correct, I will do my best to look after it :D!
Haha, you was certainly correct, he started asking me about it tonight and looking for insurance for it!

£2600 and it isn't insured at the moment, which is why I have it off the road.
As for Dan, PassPlus seems like a good idea, especially since you save so much money on insurance by doing it, lol. I like your idea of fibbing to the insurance company and telling them that I have a cheaper quote elsewhere, crafty. :P!!

are you on a parent's policy? I got insured for £1700 on my first car which was quite reasonable but then when I got my new car they declined it saying 'i had to be 21 to drive this car' so I went with post office in the end.[/quote]
You're first car eh? Well that is good. You get this proud feeling as missalice said, I guess you really badly want to drive it so i'd get on with your driving test. Good luck with that, if you pass ill give you +rep coz im in a good mood LOL!:eusa_clap

Nope, As I said earlier, only my Dad Drives and I don't really get on with him, I'd prefer to have it insured in my name, even if i do have to pay extra.

:O Seriously? The wheels suggest it's a style or finesse! Usually Ford ship off their Zetecs with the 5 spoke allow wheels...

don't let having a car make you too eager to pass your test - learn safely and take your time. you've got the rest of your life to have fun driving on your own.

Does your insurance differ depending on what gender you are (i.e a 18 year old male may pay more on insurance than a 18 year old female)? How much your charged here is gathered from age, driving record, how many cars you've owned etc.
Also insurance seems to be a lot cheaper, I have a 3L twin-turbo Nissan 300zx on a restricted license (where you can drive but not carry any passengers) and when I convert my insurance from NZD to pounds, my car is insured for £3,800 and I pay £329 a year (this being my second car I've owned in 6 months, which also slightly raises the cost). Oh, and I am only 19, if I was over 24 it would be quite a bit cheaper

Oh right, lol. It said ZETEC on the advert for it but that explains why I put "AFAIK" in my post :P, It's a Fiesta LX then.
As for the test, I've been ready to take my practical for a while and my instructor told me that again today, So i'm going to book it when I get back from holiday :D.

Oh wow, that's quite a nice car. I have a little Corsa at the moment. Everybody says it's a granny car, but I think as a 1.2, it's one of the cheapest cars to insure. My insurance (3rd party) was about £1200 untill I moved to Liverpool. They then told me the address was uninsurable (lol) but eventually decided to insure me with a cost raise to £1500. Luckily for me, my dad pays my insurance. :D
Do you think you will pass your test first time? Good luck, by the way.

Corsa's are alright, I was going to get one but everyone seems to have Corsa's as first cars, so I thought i'd go for something a bit different lol.
I hope I will, it depends on the examiner aswel, some are quite relaxed but others are really tight.
