All SIM cards have different numbers.

You can get this tranfered somehow, but i'm sure someone here will tell ya

Ring up the old network, ask for the number's PAC code, then goto the new network, tell them the PAC code and number then they can swap it over.

If its the same network ask for a replacement SIM with your same number.

Yeh, i did it yesterday, Rang vodafone got PAC
rang o2 gave the PAC
takes up to 2-3 working days :)
