Recursion

Hello,
I need a small computer, just to run a powerpoint presentation and some (non-HD) video out to a 32" display.
I can build it my self, buy from Dell or whatever and don't have to pay V.A.T.
Any recommendations?
Thanks
Nick.

Why don't you need to pay VAT?
Why don't you need to pay VAT?
It will be going in a school me thinks so they are tax exempt.
I'll have a look in a second for you Tom.

A MacMini would just complicate things, although I did think about them, but I wonder how easy it would be to do:
Auto login
Auto open powerpoint
Auto open a PPT presentation
Auto fullscreen and play
Just by pressing the power button.

with a bit of apple script for the mini i am sure that could be done somehow. Best bet is to try asking on macrumors if you going mac route. seems a bit costly though to go mac for what you wanna do.

And a mac mini wouldn't support a 32" screen anyway. Either way hes best of his current plan :P

Nah it would as it would only have to display 1360x768, but a Mac has been ruled out anyway :P.

Windows is easy enough to do it, just ned to create a shortcut, add a thing to the command box and shove it into the startup folder :P
Anyone find an Eee Box with XP Pro? (I need to connect it to the domain).
Nah, they only do EEE Boxes with XP Home or Linux, presumably to keep costs down.
