They're all quite similar to Death Note. Monster is a psychological thriller with many mysterious elements, Code Geass has similar characters, 'powers' and a similar theme, Ergo Proxy is dark and mysterious and Spiral has a lot of suspense and the characters are highly intelligent, often coming up with ingenius plans to outwit the other.

I know dubs for Ergo Proxy and Spiral do not exist on the interweb. I've never seen them anyway... I know Code Geass has been dubbed, I don't know if that's available though. Not sure about Monster. You're really missing out if you limit yourself to dubs. :P

I suggest looking here (http://myanimelist.net/anime/1535/Death_Note/userrecs). It recommends a lot of anime similar to Death Note.

Stop watching whatever you're watching and watch Sword of the Stranger! Then everyone else will watch it. It's one of the best movies I have ever seen, thats also including live action movies. It's animated by the same studio who animated Fullmetal Alchemist and it has a character with a personality just like Zaraki from Bleach. Jeez, that guy is so badass. It's a movie by the way, not a series so everything quality-wise is better. Animation, script, action, you name it. The fight scenes are out of this world and the last one is the best I have ever seen in anime, EVER. It was made this time last year as well, so it's not old at all. WATCH. IT. NOW.

If you can, download a high quality version. I downloaded a super high quality DVD rip and it looks absolutely amazing. The opening and last fight blow me away, and the backgrounds are stunning. I can't even express how amazing it is.

By the way, for anyone doubting Sword of the Stranger, it has been chosen as one of twleve films that may be nominated for 'Best Animated Film' at this year's Oscar's. It's up against films such as WALL-E and Kung-Fu Panda though, which have such high quality its stupid, so it probably won't get in the final nomination, but to be picked is a great achievement. It would win best foreign animated film without a doubt though, but I don't think the Oscar's go that far.

You must have some insanely slow internet speed then, I downloaded four whole series this weekend in no time! The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (14 episodes) took three and a half hours to download, Full Metal Panic! Fumoffu (13 episodes) took just under three hours to download, Golden Boy (6 episodes) took one hour and a half to download and Samurai Champloo (26 episodes) took around six hours to download. Altogether thats around 14 hours to download over 10gb of anime with my mediocre download speed. Sword of the Stranger only took an hour and a bit when I downloaded it, it's worth it, boy! Are you converted yet!?

- There normally cut, or in any anime 4kids get. Butchered
- Voices dont fit the characters and add in catchphrases or unwanted noise (Narutos Believe it, and luffys screaming before attacking (4kids dub of one piece)
- most the time they just dub what they want. isnt a 100% translation.
- Sometimes change names
- Cant say simple words. naruto dub is bad for that. hate sasukes voice.
- for the likes of naruto and bleach they half ass it at emotional points. so where the jp voice actor is doing an awesome job, dub actors are just like meh

Thats my reasons. i do like funimation dubs. but the likes of naruto, bleach, death note in my opinion are very poor to the origional.


And yes i can torrent quite fast but its annoying when virgin realises and slows me down lol

I downloaded Gundam, Gundam Seed, Endlezz Waltz and various other Sub Stories, TTGL (about 20gb of anime) in 12hrs.

But, Sword of The Stranger took 40 mins on Veoh.
GOD IT'S SUCH A GREAT MOVIE.

Karou vs Akage I had a hard on through it. So great.

I mainly hate dubs because of the lack of effort put into the characters, the fact that they change the original scripts and because nothing should ever be dubbed, yet they do it anyway! Anyone can read subtitles if they try, and you're not getting the full experience if you choose not to. Dubs are such a waste of effort, not that they put that much into them anyway. Gotta agree with all of Ryuzaki's points as well.

Of course, that's just our opinion though. Watch dubs if you prefer them.

I like Dubs because I cant stand Subs, Plus Most Of the time I watch naruto/Death note whilst posting on habbox or on habbo etc.

We watch a film every week at college and for the past month we've been doing forign film's and three quarters of the class complain that they can either watch or read, they can't do both at the same time. It makes me wanna roll some heads! I'm sure if they actually tried though, they could easily get used to it. Half of them say it's really easy to read subtitles if you're really interested in what's happening. So it can't be that hard to get used to.
