:o
A habbo was perm banned for arranging to meet up with his real-life cousin (so it is believed)
Do you think habbo is too over protective or do you think it is good habbo is worrying about people's safety?

In all fairness Habbo might not of known it was their cousin, and whats with these 13 year olds's who meet up with 40 year olds thinking they are 14 or summit, then going back again and again??

Better to be over protective than vice versa i suppose. Although, it seems many hobbas dont take the time to grasp what actually is going on in the room before they ban people.
However (again) i guess by moving on quickly they can get to more pressing issues.

Mm, I bet it put them off the internet forever.
If somewhere in the conversation you were stated something along the lines of you're related, then it's a bit dumb.
But if it looked like a totally random conversation between 2 habbos, I could see why they banned you...

There a bit over protected if someone was arranging to meet with their real life Cousin

Hmmm sounds to me that most people think that habbo is too over protective because if you word a phrase in such a way that is completely innocent, they dont ask you what you meant by it, they just ban you?
:S
Thats kinda wrong I think.
Well I hope from this thread, all you people know not to use certain words like "m,eet up" that will get you perm banned, even if it was a totally innocent remark :(

Nah, I think its for safety.
This so called cousin could be faking it.
Or, its true and this HABBO was asking when the next time they'd see each other. Habbo, aren't really over-protective, there just there to help you and make sure your safe.
They ALWAYS have banned for arranging to meet

Please, they dont care about your safety, they are just protecting themselves against any potential lawsuits. There are no moderators on msn to stop people from meeting, it's quite stupid to ban anyone for attempting to meet. When you are in the habbo hotel It's almost like being in a foreign country, they have a completely different set of laws to obey.
winkwink

ok so it did turn out to be his cousin this time but habbo r right u never know who your talking to online and we should always be carfull and habbo r good for making sure were safe in that way:)

True, they seem to be only doing it for certain laws, but they sure don't give a damn about people who spend a lot of money and then get hacked for being popular? They need to look at there priorities because there driving off course.

um yea well its better to be more safe than unsafe and it states under the habbo hotel rules so there breaking the rule its there own fault really.

*wonders if setting up a clone called meet-up and walking into rooms saying hello everyone would be fun*
Wonder if the hobbas would ban everyone in the room for saying " Hi, How are ya meet-up!"
RLY-CRAIG?

There was one incident when a girl was abducted after meeting a man on habbo, the news enquiry into it when in the girls house had habbo on the screen on her account so maybe it is good they are protective but you dont exactly see them going out of their way to actually do anything, its always just words of wisdom from habbo staff never any real action.
