AMD Turion 64X2 Processor TL-60
(2.0 GHz, 1600 MHz, 1 MB Cache)

Is it as good as an intel core 2 duo 2.0ghz? Laptop version.

Well that's down to personal opinion really. There's quite alot of discussion on AMD vs Intel. Personally, I'm an Intel man pretty much due to experience with Intel processors and the fact I think they are abit more reliable than AMD - However saying that I am also an ATI man which is AMD aswell.

If it were me I'd buy an intel - depending on the price of course of your AMD but there's a rather large selection of Intel mobile processors avaliable, at a glance (http://www.ebuyer.com/search?page=1&store=2&cat=22&subcat=699&sort=pricelow&limit=10).

Intel is best imho but AMD is for budget.

The 2.0Ghz C2D would perform better. That may perform similarly to a 1.6-1.8Ghz C2D.

Clock for clock, intel is better.

I have an AMD cpu, don't go for them. Constantly running hot and tbh it's a pile of crap.
