OK, so now I have worked out how to download themes from Cydia.

What I next want to know is how to download themes from my laptop and then put them on my iPod?

use DiskAid or Filezilla to SFTP into your iPod, go and install openssh from your iPod, then use your favourite FTP program (I use FileZilla) to make an SFTP connection.
