View Full Version : Outside its cold, can you be bothered going out? An exercise in your bedroom!

Well yeah, its freezing over here. And I can't be arsed going out and riding to the bus stop then getting the bus to the gym. So i thought of a crap idea to me anyway originally, which was two jog up and down my run for 40 minutes with metallic blurring out my speakers! Started to do it and it really was decent, started to sweat, get a stitch like being on the tredmill, and according to a website at my weight 119 pounds I burned 252 calories which is ok for a little exercise! try it sometime if you feel the same as I did.

No offense mate but you're probably just being lazy.. I go out on some mornings in the freezing cold and run 2 miles at a time back and fourth to my house. This is better than running in doors as it also contributes to your endurance and will to go on as it's that cold you have no other choice but to keep your body warm.
Your method is okay but tredmill isn't as good as terrain.

Agreed with excellent, I have to be out at 7 every morning to go to college plus I ride my moped which makes it even colder because your riding into the coldness, if your cold just wear more layers of clothing, it's simple.

You tackle many more 'problems' when you're out exercising such as terrain and hills.
Why would you do that when you could just do crunches..

Lol, I don't bother doing any excerising for my weight as I do rugby and do alot of running when I'm playing.
I concentrate on my muscle and do a damn lot of excerises and use to go gym all the time.

To be fair all road running is bad for you anyway and a two mile run every morning isn't that good. You need to alter it every time you run/exercise for your body to get maximum fitness or w.e.

Any exercise that gets the hard pumping faster than usual is a great exercise for you. Running in particular burns off a great deal of calories which burn up energy and aids fat loss. 2 miles every morning is great for anybody who wants to keep in shape or lose fat so I don't know where you got that bit from? Of course you will have to improve your distance but thats down to something we like to call Stamina.. Stamina occurs when you endure something and get used to it, your body allows you to do more.

I agree again, any form of exercise is good for you, but too much exercise can be harmful. The body parts exercised need at least a day of rest, which is why some health experts say one should exercise every other day or 3 times a week. Without proper rest, the chance of stroke or other circulation problems increases, and muscle tissue may develop slowly.

i never do running, i hate it. i'm probably a hypocrite for not doing it and moaning about my weight but, meh.
If that works for you great.
Aslong as your getting excersise, I myself only do crunches in my room as I find a much better atmosphere in the gym

At the end of the day it all comes down to pushing your body further and further. You're never going to succeed in weight loss if you just do a few crunches every other day or if you don't eat as much.. Exercise is the most healthy and physical way of losing weight and gaining stamina.
Most people are too lazy to run because it gets them out of breath (probably something they have never experienced before). But when you begin to see the stamina gains it's amazing to push your body to it's maximum capability.
lol, check out all these mr and mrs motivators coming out on the forum now. I don't have a run thing else I would try it, but not with crap like metalica.
