Yeah Intel Quad. Quite alot of bad reviews on AMD but it depends on what you going to use it for as you said you are going to use it for games and surfing so Intel Quad core is the best one to go for.

If you want an nVidia graphics card get Intel, if you want an ATI card get AMD.

I'll defend AMD, Bang for buck they trounce Intel at dual levels. I have an AMD 64 X2 5600 @ 2.9GHz, only set me back £130 with Mobo and RAM thrown in :D

I'd say Intel Core 2 Dual.

1. I'm a "hardcore" Intel fan (LOL)
2. I'm getting a Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 for xmas :P

Intel is not better for nvidia, infact most intel mobos use crossfire. (When I was looking at mobos at some point practically all were crossfire)

Also, intel vs AMD is personal choice, if you are intrested in computers then it is likely that you will prefer one over the other, one will always be slightly better that the other (As a general rule though intel is usually ahead on good ideas like dual core). This is the same with nvidia vs ATI and mac vs pc.
