I'm tihnking them, but one of the reviews say only two speakers will work cus of my laptop... confused... if i plug it into the headphone socket on my tv, will all five work?

If not, please reccommend me some from a walk in shop, like curries or w.e

orrrrrrrrrrrrr. just give me ideas of things I might want ty.

Headphones (3.5mm jack) do only two speakers. it is possible to get a sound card for a laptop which goes into an expresscard slot though.

edit: quickly used google http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2008/01/03/review_video_creative_xfi/ has a little add on bit that can do 5.1

I got that it works great, but as any 5.1 surround sound has 4 plugs to plug into the back of your computer, if you only managed to plug one in which you woud do with nromal laptop then you can't use 5, you could get external sound card thing? XD

To get all chanels worjing you'd have to use some form of splitters as you need to plug in 3 x 3.5mm jacks compared to the 1 x socket on your laptop. I have these http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/6753083/c_1/1|category_root|Office%2C+PCs+and+phones|10198997/c_2/2|cat_10198997|PC+speakers|10199134.htm which has something called matrix mode. You plug in a standard 2 channel 3.5mm jaqck and it plays it as though it was plugged into a 6 channel soundcard. It's not as good as plugging them into an actual decent soundcard, but it does the job.

I don't think you could plug those into a TV and use proper surround sound.

My TV Surround sound is nothing like PC one so i doubt they'll work with each other :P

I use mine in matrix mode with my TV and it plays through all of the channels.

I think you'd need either a PCIMCA card or ExpressCard for audio.
Or, you could go for 2.1 sound? I have a Creative Inspire x2600 and it's truly awesome.
