I'm not sure, I just assume it's a random thing like Habbo.

You're quite impatient aren't you. If he was online he would have replied in the other thread you asked this in.
Anyway like HabbDance said it's just a random work like Koornk or Twitter.

If that's so, it's terrible because Nivade has so many stressed syllables whereas Habbo does not - he obviously hasn't done his research on naming things because it's not a really good name but, I'd be interested to see how he came about the name :).
@ willgreen who thinks he's amazing even though his site doesn't work : twitter isn't a random word, it's there for a reason as it has something to do with what the site is offering and Koornk is just terrible and unoriginal.

How are you saying it? I believe it's pronounced nih-vay-de. If that's correct than it's not really stressed out, the only stressed syllable is the nih.

Knee-vade.

So basically this thread was created to take the mick out of him, when he replied?
You're saying that he hasn't done research on naming conventions, yet I don't see how you could reach that stage in your professional development, when you're "still looking for a partner for a new habbo fansite".
Please explain?

Then we pronounce it two different ways, your way seems much harder to pronounce than my way. However we'll have to see how Calon meant it to be pronounced.

I pronounce it ni-vaid probably wrong though.

I pronounce it like will. I dislike social networks besides myspace and facebook though.
Lol all this over a name. It's his site, not yours and therefore not an issue that concerns you.

Why are you all going on the offensive towards me?
I seriously want to know how he came about the name Nivade.
My God this section has become worse.

Because you made it seem like all you wanted to do was "get a go at" Calon for his name.. you made that clear by this post below:

You want to know why this section is so bad? It's because of *REMOVED* like you who think they're all amazing. My site does work for your information, it's just Tumblr is being a ***** to it right now.
Twitter is actually a very random word for the site, no it does not have to do with the site at anyway. They obviously got the idea of "twitter" form "tweet". How does microblogging relate to something a bird does? hmm...
Please just leave this section, as you seem to know nothing and just want to start arguments, as there was no reason for your anger against me. I was simply posting and you take the offense, not anyone else.

No need to be offensive or anything, but how do you know? It could of easily come from "chitter" (http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=define:chitter&btnG=Google+Search&meta=) so I don't really know what the hell you're on about by saying "obviously".
Anyway, as whoever said Niv-aid, I do say it like that, but I myself have no idea where it came from. I'm sure Calon will tell you when he's online.

Yes, I know that, but they could of thougt, "Okay, chitter, twitter, a bird.. tweets?" Seeing as tweeting is a high pitched sound I believe? Anyway, I'm not saying I'm right either - I'm implying their could be other reasons that effected their name choice.

Your idea is pretty far fetched (no, i'm not starting and argument) but who knows who is actually right.

They named it Twitter.
They call the updates Tweets.
They call updating tweeting.
No where in the history of the site.. has the word chitter ever been published.
They don't call it Chitters.. or Chittering..
I just don't see your logic to be honest..

I've been in this section for over 3 years and never before have I seen it in a worse state than it is now. Get the **** down from your pedestal and stop trying to cause arguments.
I'd explain why twitter, but I don't think your tiny brain could handle the explanation.

How could it originate from chitter? What is the obvious evidence, or at least a well-thought out idea, that it could come from that?
Present some evidence on why you think it could come from chitter, other then the fact that is what a bird does.
So tell us, why would twitter originate from chitter?

To make a series of high-pitched sounds; to twitter, chirp or chatter

The name twitter obviously came from the word twitter and you're a ****** to suggest otherwise.
