everyone has to realise that this isnt a singing contest, but a popularity contest. regardless on whether she can sing or not, she obviously isn't as popular as the others.

Ruth was amazing tonight; those two performances and her two survival performances were immense - some of the best of the series.

Her and Alexandra were on top form tonight; everyone else was crap - JLS were awful and should have gone.

Really sad to see Ruth go...

I completely agree, all through this performance Alexandra + Ruth have been amazing. Purple Rain + Knockin on heavens door (her results songs) were immense, as well as tonights songs.

I'd consider it a big deal. What if you went over to France and performed in French Idol (Nouvelle Star) and got to the final five singing songs in French... I think you'd make a big deal about being English :)

And how did she sound awful? She is rock, and she sounded immense. JLS were awful tonight, and Eoghan and Diana were poo. Ruth and Alexandra were the only ones that pulled off tonight's performance. You really can't call Ruth awful.

Even though I do love Diana, I'd of preffered her to go rather than Ruth.

When people say, It's not about talent it's about how much people like them, however much that may be true - It's a talent contest.
And they are gonna be the one with the Christmas (number 1?) song.
So I would prefer to hear someone like Ruth, who's voice makes me smile every week rather than Eoughan who will have the Christmas song and disappear.
