View Full Version : Windows Vista Wireless + Gaming
Hey,
Recently reinstalled vista on my pc after steering clear of it for many months
since i last had it installed i have converted my pc to wireless networking, (moved house and mum doesn't want cables running around the house)
anyway i've had issues with it on xp lagging my games, it was simply fixed by disabling auto config and using belkin's connection manager
however on vista i can't seem to find a way to disable the default one and use the belkin software?
the net works fine but i lag out every minute during online games
however i need to use vista because xp 64bit is not a nice operating system

Just install the connection manager and it should take over?
lol maybe i should try installing the software on my laptop before i move my desktop over again to find i have to reinstall xp again
Edit:
Ok Tawm i followed ur idea, however when i install the software on vista it only installs the driver,
where as on xp it installs both?

That's actually a good point! On XP the 'driver' installs the Belkin one aswella s the driver in general. My internet works fine with the Vista handled wireless, in fact it seems better than the Belkin Wireless Manager. Have you got a bad internet connection from an ISP?
ok i'll explain the situation a bit better lol,
for general use it'll work fine but when playing any online games such as counter strike source or left for dead every minute or so i'll lag out and when it reloads the game status i'll be dead.
i get the problem on xp if i use the xp wireless manager
so i don't know whats going

Ahhh ok, I wouldn't know a thing about them. The N1 seems to work quite well.
maybe i should look at taking it back, and trying another brand or something cause my inbuilt wireless on my laptop runs counter strike fine
Couldn't edit,
Have emailed belkin hopefully they can help:( its gonna take 72 hours for a reply though
