Habbox either needs more or better or more active news reporters. Half the news arent reported, and when they are, its reported VERY late.
E.g. the scripting news was reported very late and that trade etc were disabled
the free penguin news hasnt even been reported
These are just the ones I found but I am sure many others havent been reported.
I remember last year when Habbox used to report news very quickly.
The Habbo UK News forum is better :\

I know the times of news being reported isn't its best at the moment but it's not VERY late?
The penguin news was found last night at 11PM. Some people are off in bed by then and not on till 3PM today because of school so its not very late :) I am about to do a report on it now though :p Obviously it would of been great if it was reported last night but as I have said, there's staffing issues at the moment.
The quality of the news is fantastic and new reporters will be coming in soon so rest assured it will approve. Due to conz helping now in Graphics, I have more time to sort out news :)
Also, I want to add we are still faster than our main competition and our quality is arguable the best :)
Do you have any more suggestions

I've only just managed to find out about the penguin thing, and plus some news there isn't enough detail in habbo's actual article to post a report on it, and atm it seems there just posting game reveiws. ;)

It was reported, so don't moan about things which 'aren't' reported when they actually are.
Until recently theres only been 3 people in the department and two have been away, the quality of news is actually very reasonable.

I love the quality of the news at Habbox, I was going to apply for a news job myself, but the time just didn't come to me. Its a shame though as now I have the time :S

As I am sure you can understand, our lives do not revolve around the beat of Habbo. This week has been a busy week in real life for the majority of the reporters, myself included.
We try and update the news as soon as we get wind of it, but sometimes there is technical or personal obstacles that prevent us from doing so.

I'd love to step in and help to be honest.
I used to be a News Reporter on here and I used to be fairly good at it. I'm always on the forum and Habbo so generally I report the news as it breaks :)

If you noticed, I asked if it was even reported. But it was reported quite late. Most things are reported late now a days. Also many news which were released at 3pm today havent yet been reported. Yes I realise many of you have lives outside of habbo, but just hire more news reporters then.

I think your opinion was took in hand however its very arguble in many ways. The quality of the news that habbox brings is superb. Tom doesn't choose anybody to be in the news department he chooses those who has great quality of writing. This is purely because he wants the best for the habbox news readers ?
Like Ollie said - Most of the news staff have busy lives outside Habbo and also some of us have our exams - It's just a bad month- but the news that is being reported is quality. Its not about quantity :P as Missalice would put it (:

I dont know how it works these days but if news broke in the past then the news manager or a reporter would get a nudge :) if there were none available then management with access to the news system would write something if it was important/urgent.

To be honest the bit in bold isn't a surprise; 50 people as opposed to 7 or 8 (idk how many) news reporters are far more likely to report news quicker.
I think what you mean here are more (or more active) news reporters rather than better ones because I wouldn't call them bad reporters for a second; the quality of the news reports seems fine. If there was news that happened at 3 that still hadn't been reported by the time you posted ~10PM) that does sound like an area for improvement though :)
