so basicly, i'm one of those white middle class guys with everything going for them yet somehow I turn the slightest things into issues and turn to the 'generic "emo" ways', and the worst thing is I know I do it.
Any tips on how to have a better more positive outlook on life? =]

Just gotta be more grateful. You get the whole "poor little rich kid" thing going on because you're just not used to things not being easy, then something goes wrong and it's amplified by how good you got everything else. I don't know if you have a job but paying for your own stuff makes you appreciate everything a lot more, and then you'll be more accustomed to not always being able to do/have everything right as you want it.
It's unavoidable to a certain degree because I think we need to go off the rails every now and then to stop ourselves committing suicide out of sheer boredom with bliss, but if you can control it all then try keeping it to things that don't involve too many other people, and maybe use it for something constructive - when I feel crap I often paint or write some lyrics, nothing wonderfully emo but any emotion is great for setting off an artistic streak, and that gets it all out pretty well.

both so truee.
The same thing happens to me, i always see the badside.
So i can't really help, although i do offer this advice,
think about the people in Africa and compare yourself.

i was going to say that, then i thought about the people in Africa. See it works!
@Cocaine.
It was either that or the people in the Paddocks, an Australian saying. This is more familiar

cheers for all responses, espcially tom :]
but when you said 'something goes wrong and it's amplified by how good everything else is', it just doesn't feel like that anymore, it's more a constant load of stuff;
my mum and her girlfriend moved away so i'm stuck living with my dad, who 'lashes out' every 2/3 days, and I can't call childline or anything or I won't be able to live anywhere, I'm an ex bulimic, down to the point where I had a BMI of 14 or something insane, I was 6"3 and 7 stone, since then I can't stop binge eating (5000+ calories a day) and now I'm 6"4 and 12 stone. used to self harm tons, that was the 'emo tendancy' I was on about, and thats due to my dad really, combine that all with GCSE's getting into Colleges etc equals an unhappy bunny haha.
but i'll try all suggestions given, art/poetry is appealing

Thats just the way you are, and so long as you don't go overboard with it then there's nothing wrong with that.
I'm a natural cynic, and although I'm quite a happy person, I do tend to moan and groan about things I shouldn't.
Some people are optimists, some people are pesimists.......it's just a fact of life.
