View Full Version : How do you install wine for Linux Xandros? (10 +Rep)

I'm abit stuck on how to download it. It says open up a terminal and type in these stuff what i don't get.
Is there a link what i can download in straight away and is there a much easier way? Links would very useful. :)

with linux you dont just download stuff and run it (usually anyway). You have to use terminal. Just type in what it says to type in, hit enter and you should be done. I'd help you more but I don't run linux any more sorry.

It should just bring up a basic run screen and the options it gives u are just cmon sence i think

Found a easier way.
you can easily download it / install it in a single command in your terminal !
to do that follow those steps:
open your terminal by clicking applications -> Accessories -> Terminal
then when your terminal opens, type in :
sudo apt-get install wine
When i do that it says: Package wine is not available, but is referred to by another package. This may mean the package is missing, has been been obsoleted, or is only available from another source.
Any help with this!

sorry. Double post.
Make sure your package repositories are correct and upto date (/etc/apt/sources.list) or use a package manager like Synaptic.
