YES I KNOW IT SEEMS VERY STUPID.
But I've spent a long time hating Vista without actually ever trying it.
And I have a Intel Core 2 Duo (1.83 Ghz) 2GB RAM Mac mini and when I try to install Vista, the stupid thing says; "Tried to run a 64-bit program on a non-64-bit CPU."
I got a 64-bit Vista Ultimate disk image file off the glorious BitTorrent network.
I got the 64 one because I was told that the Intel Core 2 Duo processor is 64-bit?
I'm using Parallels Desktop, and I'm just updating it now...

Do any of you know what I can do to fix this or have any of you tried putting Vista on Mac and failed?

EDIT: I'll post a screenshot of the error message after I update Parallels.

:)

I don't think you can use a 64bit version of Windows on a Mac via Parralels. Try 32-bit.

VM Ware is better on a mac, also.

Not that it's relevant or anything, but does the VM application I use affect my installation?

Also, can anyone tell me if the Mac mini is 64-bit, or not?

It will run 64-bit (hardware side) but Im not sure on the software side, it should do IMO.

Yeah but it wont, it kept saying 64 bit compatibility issues.

I gave up once I reminded myself that Windows has always sucked.

Just as OS X does.

Vista is actually OK, I wouldn't have a problem using it on a 2GB ram machine. I just prefer OS X over Vista, but I wouldn't have a problem using Vista, I use it on VMWare daily.

I know it sounds stupid, but are you sure your running the 32 bit version and not the 64 bit?

EDIT: You have to run the 32 bit version of other OS's on Mac.

He's said multiple times throughout the thread he is trying to run the 64-bit one...
