Hey guys,
War is my favourite genre, and so I want to know as many war films as you know - I'm saying 1995 onwards or so.
I've watched many, but suggest them all, whether they're obvious or not!
Thanks,
Danny

Letters From Iwo Jima (my favourite)
Flags of Our Fathers
Downfall
Saving Private Ryan
I've seen a load more but those are the only one's that come to mind. Letters From Iwo Jima is fantastic, and Downfall has some insanely good actor playing Hitler. He's perfect!

Lol, I've got to just past the fat guy doing that. It's quite good so far, I can't see a point to it yet.
I watched Black Hawk Down recently and it is a great film - very long though.

ah, definately jarhead (L)
There are tonnes here.
http://watch-movies.net/genres/war/
I remember watching one and it was proper cocky and funny, these guys plant a mine to try and bomb these guys and they're driving on the road and one gets blown up and they lose a really good friend and they go on a killing spree killing everyone in the village for revenge then get charged with loads of counts of murder.
Edit: I found it, it's a great watch. http://watch-movies.net/movies/battle_for_haditha/
It's called Battle for Haditha.

Yeh, lots of these I've seen. Josh, that's the site I use a lot and I've already been to that list but most seem crap.
I've just finished watching Full Metal Jacket and I have to say that it's one of the crappest films I've ever seen. One minute they're training, then that guy shoots himself, so what does that have to do with them in the war, and then they fight this girl sniper, and that's the end of the movie. I really don't understand it. The only good part was the song at the end and the start where they're training.

It's really good :)
Bit sad when..
They bust into a house (the soldiers) and claim there is a secret plot or something and shoot the whole family dead.

Saving Pvt Ryan
Boy In Striped Pyjamas (If you class it as war movie)
Schindler's List (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0108052/)
The Great Dictator (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0032553/)
Hope these all help :D
I'm surprised no one has mentioned Three Kings and The Great Escape.
Also, Good Morning, Vietnam is a great movie, but more of a comedy.
I'm not sure if you could class The Last King of Scotland as a war movie, but it sort of is and it is a great watch.

You don't have to keep posting. It's his choice if he watches or not.
The film you mentioned was absolute crap anyway.

I mainly love wars films about ancients wars e.g. persians/romans/eyptians/ but there are some great films about the world wars, just every other year a world war film comes out.

Saving Private Ryan [1998] (All round good film, story has a fast pace and historically accurate)
Flags of our Fathers [2006] (Good film shows the dark side of War and the effects on people)
Band of Brothers [2001] (Although its not a film it is defiantly up there with SPR)
The Great Escape [1963] (Classic movie enough said)
The Colditz Story [1954] (A personal favourite)

You keep posting:
"Did you watch it?"
"Did you watch it?"
He's not going to watch it, if you keep nagging.
Edit:
Harry, can't you accept his opinion?
