Grammy Nominations

Oh what a joke! Beyonce's "Me, Myself and I" up for a grammy even though it was released in 2003 :S!

Well anyway, at least we have some British representation. Coldplay have 7 nominations, Adele has 4 nominations, Leona and Duffy each have 3 nominations - Leona was ridiculously snubbed from Best New Artist and Song of the Year nominations. Should have been on parr with Adele :@. Then again the Grammys have always been a joke. I think Estelle has 2 as well.

The important ones (British in bold, soz I had to :D):

Record of the Year: Chasing Pavement, Adele ; Vida la Vida, Coldplay ; Bleeding Love, Leona Lewis ; Paper Planes , M.I.A ; Please Read the Letter, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss.

Album of the Year: Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends, Coldplay ; The Carter III, Lil Wayne ; Year of the Gentlemen, Ne-Yo ; Raising Sand, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss ; In Rainbows, Radiohead

Song of the Year: American Boy (Estelle ft Kanye West) ; Chasing Pavements (Adele) ; I'm Yours (Jason Mraz) ; Love Song (Sara Bareilles) ; Viva La Vida (Coldplay)

Best New Artist (minus Leona): Adele ; Duffy ; Jonas Brothers ; Lady Antebellum ; Jazmine Sullivan

So there are the big four. Hopefully Adele will get a few, Leona will get at least one (though its unlikely cus she often gets snubbed at Awards Ceremonies) and Coldplay will most likely get most of theirs. Maybe Leona will get Best New Artist next year when Run becomes a worldwide smash for her :D

grammys have always been a joke. its an award show for record companies, not actual artists. Its always based on absolutely nothing, and they have been and still really are behind the times. a teen choice award is more valuable than a grammy.

actually, i was looking through the list and this year actually has some legitimacy, haha. some. like, its mostly still terrible but at least not every single nominee isn't going to die at any moment like usual. hell, they even nominated No Age, even if it is just for album packaging

But atleast Duffy got a nomination :) Still it's quite funny, three neo-soul type singers in the category, oh dear grammys

Leona's success speaks for it's self though, so it's all good really :)

Yeah I agree completely. Jasmine Sullivan is from J Records too I think so Clive might not be that down in the dumps :P If Leona releases Run worldwide (which is unlikely) then Im guessing there may be hope for her next year for BNA.

Also I dont know how Beyonce managed to get a Best R&B Vocals nomination for a single that was released 5 years ago :S!
