View Full Version : Do You Always Get What You Ask For?
When you ask your parents for something like a new phone or a console game etc, do you always get it?

Depends on the cost.
I can't think of anything that I was never able to have but I never really did ask for anything stupidly expensive except at Christmas, It's good having a similar aged sister because every time she got something my parents would always let me have something to be fair.

I am sorta at the stage I basically buy the majority of stuff myself and my parents just give me the money back. So much easier :)

it kinda depends on what it is, but i'm one of those people who feels guilty if someone else buys them something - so i tend to try and pay for things myself :)

Not all the time, but most times yes, even though it might take a while :D But I don't constantly say 'get me this, get me that' - I'm not a spoile brat.
edit: i made a rhyme :)
If your on about for christmas, I usualy get everything I ask for.
If your on about all the time, I only get clothes and other essentials bought for me now.
The only things I buy myself are DVDs really tho.

As long as it's within reason price-wise, I would get it eventually (like I've wanted an iPhone since the 1st gen came out) and that's me just getting one for Xmas this year.

Absolutely not.
Most the things I have like my imac, HDTV, I payed for. Not because they don't want to buy me it. Just because they have more important things to spend 300 pounds on. For IE I want a PS3 but there not going to spend 300 pounds so they will give me some money towards it.

yeh ....
If I want something like a game or something, which is usually around £50, my mum usually lends me the money so I can pay her back with any spare cash I have. But when I start making an effort at paying back, she usually lets me have it, or pays for half of it.
Meh, she does get £15 child benefits a week.. LOL doesn't even pay for butchers.

I tend to think that if I asked I would probably get something I wanted, but I find myself not asking for things I feel are too expensive in conjunction with that.

well i did ask my mom for a brand new honda accord coupe, but she said no and helped me buy a used accord sedan instead.

Sometimes if i ask for somthing my mum will buy me it, but most of the time i have to buy my own stuff. I have a job and i get ema though.
But then again, if i turn around and ask for some money for the cinema or petrol she noramlly gives me a tenner here and there.

Exactly like me. I work so I saved my money up to buy stuff I wanted. I wanted a new TV so I bought one. I wanted a PS3, so I bought one.
I get dad to buy me stuff through eBay and then i transfer him the money. So in the end I do buy it :)
