I just was searching around for stocking fillers and found this new product
Ecosphere I really like the concept of it and its brilliant
The Original EcoSphereŽ is the world's first totally enclosed ecosystem - a complete, living, self-contained and self-sustaining miniature world encased in glass. It contains active micro-organisms - red shrimp and algae - in a clear 'soup' of filtered sea-water. Simply provide the EcoSphere with indirect natural or artificial light and the ecosystem will thrive without needing further attention.
http://www.gadgets.co.uk/mas_assets/eco-closeup150.jpgWhile beautifully crafted, and fascinating to look at, an EcoSphere demonstrates the delicate balance of a closed system like the Earth and contains some of the same essential elements that are found on our planet.
The Earth is represented by the gravel at the bottom, with water filling approximately two-thirds of the system and air filling the balance of the space. Fire is represented by the light. And finally to complete the system, life - the shrimp, the algae and the bacteria.
EcoSpheres also make the perfect gift for the person with everything - whether as an ornament for the home or office, as an educational tool for the kids, or simply as the latest gadget.
Ecospheres need at least six hours of natural or artificial light (not halogen) a day. Do NOT place your Ecosphere in direct sunlight.
A great xmas pressent :D
what you all think?
