Hey,

I know what i want to be when i am older. I want to be a police dog handler. I am currently 13 years old and still have my GCSE'S to go. I was wondering what kind of GCSE's i would have to get to get in. I realise i will have to do about 2-3 years of being a police officer until i will be able to become a dog handler. Just wondering if anybody had any more information abot it. ( Staffordshire police force is my closest )

I think if you pass 5 A-C's it'll be fine, a public services course would help at 6th form I think.

Tbh with you the police like people with life experince.
Its rare you see a new copper straight out at 19.
Join the RMP and then go into the police later on.
Or even take a gap year and go around the world.

I myself want to become a fireman but im first going to do commercial diving, like my family and then go into later on.

See if your school does a public services college course, the police like people with that kind of thing. As said before you don't need to have any formal qualifications but you will be expected to pass entrance exams in English and Maths.

Good luck anyway. :D

You only need GCSE's to join the police force anyway I think.

You have to do internal testing anyway.
