So I'm trying to download Rapidshare files through a Proxy website, hidemyass.com and whenever I click the GO button on the proxy website when I've copy and pasted the link into the proxy, IDM comes up as downloading a webpage instead of a file. Why is this? Thanks.

What would my ISP do if they realise I'm downloading like, 10gb a week?

Do it at school, thats what I do. :P I've downloaded at least 100GB from College, that connection is FAAAAAAAAAAAAST. It might be that the proxy has disabled cookies, which would be why you're still having troubles logging in.

Hmm, thanks mate. ;) I can't download from college since its monitored like hell and how could I get it home? Also, internet at college is slow as.

Is it? omg, ours is like ZUM. We use the Uni internet though, hehehehe. I download onto my 80Gig iPod usually, take it home and put it on my 1TB hard drive, om nom. I just realised, yeah it will be cuz you're downloading without the pw, it'll download the website. I tried downloading something using just the filename, and it DID NOT like it. Downloaded a .html file instead.

Yeah, that's why my IDM is doing, downloading .html files. I am using a premium account for Rapidshare and the password is saved on the cookie. I don't mind that much now, I downloaded a program to make me look as if I live in Germany and my IP address shown is different to my real one.

If you find a program to say you live in Sweden, copyright laws don't exist there so you're fully protected. :P

I'd recommend a torrent with encryption if you don't want to get caught.

I can't download torrents. My torrent downloading software stays at 0kb/s every time.

If you use a proxy, your isp still knows how much your downloading lol

I highly reccomend you check what your ISP limit you too before you continue downloading, because a lot, if not all cap your internet speed if you go over an allocated amount.

Wayne

Yeah, my limit is 40gb.

If you think the problem is caused by your ISP preventing you from downloading torrents then using encryption would hopefully solve your problem.
