It's like at my JJB Sports it says upto 95% off so I thought I was going to get everything really cheap then I find that the only things that are reduced in price are makes like 'Champion' and JJB's own make. :l

I've lost count on the amount of threads I have seen on this
Yes, it's very misleading, it does say up to 50%, therefore meaning they can reduce it by anything from 1%-50%
'Tis a marketing scam, y'know.

Same with mines, no point in putting that on ur signs cos customers get angry, when like one pair of gloves is reduced by 95% and nothing else, they're mongooses.

It started today you cant expect every store up and down the country to automatically slash prices right away, give it to the end of the weekend and all of them will be slashed in half.
Theres already a thread on this btw http://www.habboxforum.com/showthread.php?p=5381317#post5381317

It's not a scam, it's a marketing technique.
There is a difference - and, you should all be ashamed that you're pouncing of the deals that they're offering without a thought for the 35,000 people who will be out of a job come next month. Congratulations, you really fail.

Not much of a discount really though considering how everything here is way over priced compared to other countries.

Yep it's just a scam to attract shoppers. If you're that gullable to beleive that almost everything in the shop will be 50% off you shouldn't visit any shop. They're hardly going to put expensive items at 50% are they? You will most likely find that a biro pen that costs £1 will be 50p thus being 50% off, thats about it.
Also if it says UP to 50% off as someone stated, it can mean from 1-50% so you can't complain.

Errrm, saying "Up to 50% off" isn't mis-leading, it's called you mis-reading ;) If it said "50% off" then it would be mis-leading you ;)
Shame the Woolworths franchise is pretty much ending, such a popular and well known store, yet no-one really goes in there :S

Well at the least I expected service with a smile, I shall be complaining to Head office on monday.
There are only 10 head office staff now.
And update for everyone. Dad came home last night and said, only 25 stores will be closing before xmas. Rest are closing jan 16th (final day of trading) and they (adminstrators) have just ordered another 40 million pounds of stock in toys becuase trading is doing so well they recon they can lower some of the debt. Iceland signed a contract y-day to buy 50 and the store loactions will be released on dec 23rd. Poundland have made an offer for 300 stores however its still in discussion.
:P
