Royal Marine's are incredibly well-trained soldiers, some of the best, I guess everyone is naturally worried if someone they know joins the Army but it certainly applies to this case, you should be very pleased for him and he's surely done well to get in.

Good luck & fair play to him. The Marines are one of the toughest branches of the Armed Forces - well trained and tend to be the first into areas. He'll get a lot of action, but have a lot of professionals watching his back.

I'm waiting for my Uni applications to come back before enlisting (not with Marines), hopefully =]
