Connection Timing Out +rep

My internet connection times out all the time, then minutes later, it's fine again.
This is annoying whilst i'm playing online on xbox live, and i get timed out, then can get straight back in, then does it again.
How can i prevent "timing out"?

Virgin Media, but i doubt that's the reason.
Should i change settings or what?

I get it too. Im on VM broadband too.

But my rarley times out.

Yes, but it always times me out of xbox live and my internet connection whilst browsing etc.
