Beyoncé's Listen has hit the Apple Song Chart at number 6. Along with this Alexandra's new single; Hallelujah, is of course number 1.

And not only this, but the original Hallelujah by himself; Jeff Buckley, is at number 4.

Woo-Hoo for X-factor!

And from that we can see how much TV dominates the music industry as well as its own ;)

Jeff Buckley isn't #4 because of X Factor, it's #4 because of that online 'movement' to beat the X Factor single with the original - it will fail ,Alex will be #1.

But yeah Beyonces dominance of iTunes is down to X Factor - If I were A Boy up from like 8 to 3, Listen re-entering at 6, her album is at #6 even though even when it was new it only peaked at 10 I think.

Btw can you get on the UK iTunes store? It says it's busy when I try :S

The midweeks at the moment:

MIDWEEKS

01 Alexandra Burke 149,546
02 Leona Lewis
03 Jeff Buckley
04 Beyonce - If I Were A Boy
05 Beyonce - Listen

Not bad seeing as they are all helped by X Factor.

but if the x factor hadnt chosen Hallelujah as the winners song, there would be no online movement to beat the x factor single, so really it is number 4 due to the x factor (Y)
and i think its a bit of a lol the fact the top 5 is all X factor, really does show you that TV is such a major influence.

add on another 500,000 for alexandra on pre-orders lol

The number for Alexandra is how many she has sold so far. By pre-orders they mean the stockists combined total of how many were ordered to be sold. I doubt all of them will be sold though as downloads make up the totals nowadays rather than physicals.

No, by pre-orders they mean people who have ordered before the release, otherwise they would have said stores have a shipped 500,000.

kk.

yes but what i mean is, 500,000 people have, according to simon, already pre-ordered the actual single, so tomorrow, that 500,000 will go onto the figures immediately as money will be transferred

Exactly.

Download-wise:
Day 1: 105k
Day 2: 44k
Total: 149k
+ 500k pre-orders = 649k.

That doesn't include the entire weeks sales of downloads or physical copies which will probably be stocked by most major supermarkets, and the possibility of pre-orders exceeding 500k to begin with as well as the additional pre-orders since she won/Simon announced that figure.

Leona's "A Moment Like This" sold 571k in the first week.
Shayne Ward's "That's My Goal" sold 742k in the first week.
Potentially, she could outsell both and almost hit the million mark.
