Would you donate your organs?

Would you be happy to know when you die your body is going to get cut open and your organs will most possibly save someone elses life..

it doesn't really matter because you'll be dead, unless you want a open coffin at your funeral or somthing..?

Oh yes, most definitely. I have already told my mother that if I die before she does, I want my organs to be donated.

There is a desperate need for more donors. Last year more than 400 people died while waiting for a transplant. One in ten people waiting for a heart transplant will die and many others will lose their lives before they even get on to the waiting list.
The more people who pledge to donate their organs after their death, the more people stand to benefit. By choosing to join the NHS Organ Donor Register you could help make sure life goes on.

thats really upsetting :(
organ donating only crossed my mind when i applyed to give blood, its like i'm not going to need my organs when i'm dead so i might aswell let someone who needs them have them

It wouldn't really bother me as I wouldn't have much say in the matter as I'd be dead. I think I'd like my organs to be donated though because it could save someone elses life and give them a chance to live their life as I did. :)

tbh, i don't really know how to answer that..
i mean, i'd love to donate my organs to someone else when i die, especially if its going to save them. but then its like having a piece of me, in someone else. like im living in someone elses body (if you get me?) apart from that, sometimes i think people should be left in peace when they die, left untouched.

honestly though, if something i didn't need anymore could save someones life, i think thats such an achievement to carry.. even when you are dead. i'm just not made up on my decision yet, im nearly 17, so its not something that needs to be decided in a rush!

Yep, same as you.

My biology teacher was saying the other day that they were talking about changing the situation so that instead of signing up to become a organ donor you would have to sign up to say that you didn't want your organs to be used after you die. I think it's a pretty good idea as many people are in desperate need of different organs but they can't give them to them as they're in short supply. Also some people just might not get round to signing up to become a donor

So it's basically forcing people to donate organs. We do have lazy people in this world you know.

I have a real problem with needles so giving blood is not something i could really do. But i wouldn't mind giving my organs once i have departed, im not going to need them and some people could benefit from them. However it would depend on the feelings of my parents/partner depending on my age.

I have just recently had to make this decision as I got my license switched over to the full license, which will say on it whether or not to donate your organs if you're ever in a car accident or somehow die. I chose yes, because what will I need them for?

When Chuck Norris is through with me, I'll have no organs left.

But, yes I would donate them.

I'm on the organ donor register, I firmly believe that once you're gone, you're gone - what use are your organs then?

Probably when I die but not when I'm alive.

If they do that, it would spark riots.

Tbh people who didn't know wouldn't be very happy.
What if they arn't dead and someone actually slices them up and steals their organs. - it can happen.

I wouldn't donate mine :)

I decided not to vote as I am still totally undecided.

It's something I really want to do but don't know how I feel about being buried without all of me sort of thing.

I'm all for giving blood though :P
