GTA V not coming any time soon.

We revealed last night that Take Two had re-signed (http://gamzsonev3.wordpress.com/2008/12/18/confirmed-take-two-resign-rockstar-games/) the 3 key figures from Rockstar Games, Dan and Sam Houser and Leslie Benzies, which meant that Rockstar Games would stay with Take Two until January 2012 when said contracts expire.

As well as that, Rockstar will be setting up a new internal studio inside the company. It comes hot off the heals of the success of Grand Theft Auto IV for the Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3 with the impending release of Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and Damned exclusively to the Xbox 360 in Februrary with GTA IV: Episode Two sometime later on in 2009.

But soon after, what is happening after Grand Theft Auto IV, what about Grand Theft Auto V?

Well, according to Take Two, it’s too early to be mentioning GTA Quatro if Ben Feder, CEO of Take Two, has any say.
“We’re not saying no, it’s just way too early to be talking 2010, especially GTA in 2010,”
Well, there ya have it folks. Just go back to GTA IV and twiddle your thumbs until The Lost and Damned.

Looks like we are going to be playing GTA V for long. If Xbox 360 stays on and doesn't have a Xbox 720 then GTA V will not come on to Xbox

Can you please stop assuming the successor to the Xbox 360 will be the Xbox 720? Microsoft hasn't even spoke of replacing it yet, and when the time comes, I doubt it will be Xbox 720. Simply because the Playstation decides to add '1' number in each version doesn't mean the Xbox will 'Double' the 360.

There is as much logic with the next console being the Xbox 720 as there is it being called Xbox 361. 360 is a special number because there is 360 degrees in a circle, 720 is not.

It's also unlikely the next GTA will be GTA V if we use past-knowledge of Rockstar's naming for the GTAs.

If the new Xbox has that name (which is very unlikely), it'll probably win an award for the worst named console :P

I can't say I was expecting a GTA V, infact, the thought has never crossed my mind :/

Yeah i've never understood why people call it the Xbox 720. It just sounds weird.
