Exactly as the title says, post all your progress in here.

It would be easier if you set your post out like this:

Alright so I guess I'll go first! I've had a great year of building muscle and have packed on over over 18 pounds of solid muscle. My diet consists of carbohydrates and lean meat for protein. I do not take any kind of supplement or PEDS.

Aren't you a tough guyNo? It's not to be tough, it's for us bodybuilders to share progress. Having muscles doesn't make me any better than somebody else, it just means I happen to be stronger than them.

I fancy trying body building sort of, but not to the extreme like some of the pro's.

Not sure what to eat and stuff though. Is there like, a diet plan that I can follow?

I fancy trying body building sort of, but not to the extreme like some of the pro's.

Not sure what to eat and stuff though. Is there like, a diet plan that I can follow?Bobybuilding is great. People now associate bodybuilding with steroids though, it's not like that. There is another word for it which is "strong man". The *pro* bodybuilders take steroids though.

Mainly you need to consume over 2000 calories a day to feed your muscles and give them the correct nutrition they need to grow bigger and stronger. I eat a combination of carbohydrates and lean meats. Carbohydrates to give me energy and Protein to help build my muscles. Things like pasta and chicken would be great for you.

For a basis I'll give you my typical daily food intake.

Breakfast:
4 egg whites ( swallow )
1 bowl of oatmeal.
1 sausage sandwich.
4 pieces of toast.

Lunch: (before workout)
A cup of coffee with 3 spoonfulls of sugar.
Bowl of nuts, roasted.
Plate of pasta.
Tin of tuna.

Dinner:
Big plateful of pasta.
2 big chicken breasts.

This will sound sick to most but I usually drink chicken stock if my mum has any left, it's full of protein.

I also mix with with a decent sleep, 7-8 hours a day. I also do my cardio every day, just 30 minutes on the treadmill.

Im really picky about food and don't like fish or eggs, is there any other substitute for it?Well I wolf it down, thats how :P It's not something that makes me sick either, I can easily eat that and not feel bloated or anything :P Nuts would be a great substitute for eggs as they contain lots of protein.

Natural, organic nuts are great for you. The cheap ones you buy add unwanted fats etc. Nuts though are high in monounsaturated fats, and there has been strong evidence that a high monounsaturated fat intake can actually help you loose body fat. Also there really good for muscle gain.

I used to do weights, i was like 65 kilos and 5 foot 6, but i joined boxing and i've been growning and i'm 5 foot 9 and i'm 54 kilos, tyring to get to 50 kilos, i know it's not healthy but i don't look skinny for a 5 foot 9 i want to look tall not slightley stocky (the good stock like bodybuilders). Do you grow alot when you do weights cause my brother was 22 and he joined the army, lots of physical exercise and weights ect and he put on like 2 stone and he was 5 foot 9 know hes 6 foot 1 ??

Captain

If you do weights then you will gain mass, since muscle weighs more than fat. I'm not sure if doing weights can actually make you taller, that's just part of growing up.

What other way can you add to your biceps apart from curls? You can lift and holst which I do now. Extend the bar in mid air for 1 minute. You get obsessive fools who think this don't work but what they don't get is, you have to fatigue your muscles for them to grow so no matter what way you do it, if you lift heavyweight you stress them.

You only say that because you have no muscle yourself. So would you put a cruser weight boxer against a heavy weight boxer? I think not, would you put someone 150lbs against someone 280lbs in a MMA fight? I think not.

Yeah it's pointless having muscle if you don't do anything with it but believe me, being heavier than people I have had fights with is really an advantage.

For my life story read everything, For question skip to bottom :P

I done my work experience in a leisure centre, a part of it was working in the gym and they let me go on some machines when it wasn't busy. I mainly went on the treadmill and muscle building ones. My favourite one was the back one where you did like crunches and it tones your back too. I enjoyed it but its a killer and doing it for a few days, like everything for about an hour of my time by the end of the week i ran up a big flight of stairs with my friends messing about at the local shopping centre and i wasn't the smallest bit out of breath whereas i usually would, I plan to go back and start doing weights.

My main concern though is that I don't want to go in the gym and start on tiny weights.

Wow, huge essay lol.

You don't need to eat tuna. You can eat a variety of raw meats or even cooked meats such as:

Beef.
Chicken.
Turkey.
Gamon.
Pork.
Duck (great for protein.)
Tuna.
Any type of fish.

You can also eat nuts. Nuts are packed with protein and mono-saturated fats which can actually help you lose them extra pounds.

Do you reckon Frijj is good for bulking up?

It has roughly 20g of protein but 52g carbs with zero fat. Im guessing the carbs are just sugar though. :P

You can't change fat into muscle it's impossible. The only reason why fat people might gain muscle faster is because they eat more.
But if you try to loose weight whilst your doing weights then you will loose alot of muscle along with the fat. This is why i reccomend getting a pretty average samatotype before lifting weights.

Also I've posted some pictures on the forum before? I'll post new ones when I can

I'd recommend doing some cardio for a few months before beginning to lift weights. Or do your cardio after you do your weights. Why is this? This is because when you consume calories, these will give you energy to exercise. If you use all of them calories up by doing cardio before weights, you'll have no energy to lift weights and thus won't have a good workout.

I honestly don't have the patience to lift weights anymore. I haven't lifted them in about 2 or 3 month now and I always feel weird afterwards. Probably because I don't breathe when im lifting :PEat a meal before you workout to give you some energy. Remember to breath properly too then lol!

Naughty :@

If you don't breathe then you have no oxygen. If you have no oxygen then your body can't get enough blood to the muscle your working on to get that 'pump' feeling.

Also it's best to not eat a big meal for atleast two hours before gym because you will have more blood for your muscles.

Wow I should really think about going into personal training :P

Pretty decent, i don't take protein shakes neither i agree its better to get calories and proteins from nuts etc. Creatine is replacing the ATP energy in your muscles. Basically just providing you with more muscle energy.

That looks good, from my experience tredmill is the best fat burner as it's less supported than all the other cardiovascular machines.

I started at the same age as you and I'm only 15 and 8 months now, and i've improved alot since I started. Stretching is good because it rids your muscles of that lactic acid.

The cardio looks fine at the moment but If you want to start loosing serious pounds then do one large session of prehaps 20 minutes and above at a suitable pace depending on your fitness level, this is because you will break into your fat energy storage once you use up alot of your carbohydrates. You will actually be burning alot more calories than the machine says so don't be fooled by them

You can't expect to build alot of muscle by eating say 1300 calories a day no matter how much protein your taking in,
you need to increase the ammount of food you eat and increase the ammount of excersise you do to gain muscle weight.

But to be honest, some posistions in american football favour you to be slightly over 20% body fat. It's still not muscle but deffinetly makes you harder to take down. Just work on cardio, not everyones built to being really quick and agile, it's our genetics. Me, I am lucky I have fast twitched fibres which can pull my heavy 13st body. Others on the other hand don't. It's life just work with what you have.

Sorry about that, well you can't turn fat into muscle too completely different things, but I'm guessing you want to burn the fat and get alot of lean mean muscle. Well that's what i did and I'm 13st at 12.47% body fat (clinic) it's benefited me greatly as I'm now playing for my county in rugby

As for the fat>muscle thing, you're completely right. Fat and muscle are two very different entities and consist of different methods. If you want to 'turn' fat into muscle, you need to lose the fat and pile on the muscle. Never try to build muscle whilst losing fat because it will eat into all that hard earned muscle you have.

Im guessing your talking about dumbell curls, well as excellent said you should always do a pulse raising activity followed by a stretch before lifting any weights. As far as your technique goes, I can't help you from there, unless you post a video of your self curling. Make sure you keep feet shoulder width apart, good posture, bend knees and poke chest out. And keep elbows on hips!

There all tips I can give you, if your new to this then prehaps your elbow will become accustom to the added stress being applied to it

If your working out your upperbody then prehaps do around 5+ minutes on the rowing machine at a reasonable resistence. And then doing the stretched required for your workout

Red bull is terrible. The effect will only work for about 20-30 minutes and then you will feel energyless afterwards. According to my sports science course, your muscles store all these extra glucose, and your body recognises this and within 20 minutes your muscles are rid from all that extra glucose. You'l have to correct me on this, search on google for more info, basically just don't drink it pre workout

I would reccommened something like lucozade hydroactive. But it's not really needed. If you want a really quick burst of energy, eat a handful of jelly babies, they get digested VERY fast and football players like Ronaldo eat them.

Well, I'm doing the WJEC course as I live in Wales. But my school offered two physical courses, Physical Education (more practical) and Sports science (more science). I'm taking it along with Biology and Chemistry as many universities appreciate the course along with the two main sciences. Any advice on nutrition when trying to lower BF%? I seem to eat alot of carbs and dairy, so that may be my downfall :POnly eat carbs if you're going to use them as they transform into energy. If you don't use up your carbs they turn into calories. Dairy products are super high in fat and calories.

If you want to lower your BF% I suggest you eat a low calorie diet and run for 30-40 minutes each night. Doing this will burn off the fat.

I've been doing the "8 minute abs" thing on Youtube (LOL I know, only thing I've managed to find) for about 3 weeks now and I can notice the shape forming but the abs don't seem to be very prominent.
I'm turning 16 soon. My height is about 5ft 7in and I weigh about 8st. I'm not a very good eater so I don't know if that has anything to do with it and I don't participate in much sport either. I would also like bigger chest and arm muscles but wouldn't know how to go about it. Preferably something I can do easily at home.

Yeah, i see what you mean, you do look pretty skinny. Your core is comming along nicely though so your training programme must be working. And yeah youtube is great with ab excersises, so try and change your workout now and then to make sure that you don't plateu. Some people treat there abs like any other muscle group and train it usually twice or three times a week, other people argue that it repairs very quickly and train their core 5x a week. I've found out that 3x a week with about 4 sets of crunches etc seems to work well.

Anyway, a six pack is all about having a low body fat %, i can tell that your about 12-15% body fat so if you cut down to about 7% that should make it visible.

As for your arms.. well to be perfectly honest with you, you will get nowhere without a gym membership. I mean, you can buy dumbells etc, but you can't do many variations of excersises. Especially for your triceps which are usually the bigger muscle on your arm.

Eat lots of pasta, tuna and do some cardio.

Heres a little cheat :-) - do 500 situps with a blackback over your body (NOT OVER YOUR HEAD THOUGH!!), you will sweat badly, but dont take it off afterwards! As soon as your finished go on a treadmill for about 30 minutes. By that time you should be really sweaty. The more you sweat during a workout the more weight you loose.

BREATHING
Breath in through your mouth and out through your nose when jogging.
When doing the situps, as you sit up breath in through your mouth and out through your nose on your way down.

Check out my weightloss topic on how to loose bodyfat - you barely have any so don't worry too much.

If I was to advise you I'd say just build into that because soon youl want to put on weight to get bigger in muscle.

If your intrested in further help then pm me and I'll write you up a food list, a workout routine and a workout routine for your arms also ;-)

This message was directed at Toughened and once I have written the guides out I will publish them for the public.

Anyone can feel better about themselfs through bodybuilding - its a great sport.

This is some great advice but I would say that doing that amount of cardio would hinder your muscle growth due to lack of energy.

I am soo sorry, 500 situps is way too much for a beginner! I reccomend 50 situps if your going by that information I just posted.

I've done bodybuilding since I was 13 - I'm 24 now so 500 is nothing to me but obviously for a beginner its really hard.

Sorry!

Sorry - Dont do 500 - Do 100.

Its because I'm 24 now and I've been doing it since I was 13 I do minimum 500 :P

But because your a beginner it wont be good for you. But any amount of cardio is good for you - do a minimum of 30 minutes jog.

What's a good diet to start off if you need a bit more meat on your body?

No one from a forum can give you a diet. You have to be checked out for all of that.

Lets presume you want to be a bodybuilder, click here (http://www.habboxforum.com/showthread.php?t=573045).

If you can take the time to explain to me fully what you want I will be happy to help.

If you want to 'put on a bit of meat', I suggest bulking up. In this diet you will have to exceed your recommended calorie intake. Remember, to up your calorie intake only eat good foods and lots of protein. Cut out the crap like pot noodles and fizzy drinks.

Personally I eat 6 meals a day because im bulking atm, I'll give you an example of my diet.

Meal one:
2 egg whites
1 whole egg
Instant oatmeal
10 oz nonfat yogurt
1 banana
8 oz Milk
8 oz orange juice

Meal two:
100g weight gainer
120 g tuna
8 oz milk
8 oz orange juice

Meal three;
85 g spaghetti noodles
1 tuna sandwich
1 bran muffin
16 oz orange juice

Meal four: (before work out)
1 bran muffin
1 banana
8oz orange juice

Meal five: (after workout)
Chicken breast with salad
2 protein shakes
8 oz milk
8 oz orange juice
2 tuna sandwhiches
1 small plate of pasta

Meal six:
1 protein shake
1 apple
8 oz milk
2 turkey sandwhiches

remeber, you need to lift heavy and eat heavy to get bigger :)

Sounds decent, some people are too strict on there diet and don't consume the calories (usually 2500 but depends on your weight) that their body demands. And most people don't drink enough water, i myself drink 2.5L-3L per day. Dehydration is not good

I posted a few weeks ago about working on a six pack and said I would post my progress in a few weeks.

Well for cardio I've been going on the Wii Fit doing the 'Island Lap' as much as I can which has been on average every 2-3 days and for my abs I've carried on with the '8 Minute Abs' workout from Youtube.

I can't see much progress in just over two weeks really; if any, but any more tips and advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry for the pictures being small and dark too.

6 packs are made in the kitchen ^
I think its kinda ridiculous that you even consider going on the wii as cardio. If you want to lose some bodyfat to expose your 6 pack, go running, play football etc.

I don't do much activity that's the thing and I don't want to start going the gym as none of my friends would come with me and that was my only idea of at least some cardio. +Rep anyway.

You wont see much of a difference in two weeks... give it time.

You should be working your core 3/4 times a week. Try and increase the intensity by decreasing the recovery times and trying harder sit up routines

You've done it that long? So then you'd know situps work your hip flexers rather than isolating your abs? And for growth to the abs 500 sit ups is useless and you should be doing some kind crunch with weight? And also isolating the 3 areas? :S:S

Please if you have had any gains doing 500 sit ups please enlighten me ...

:Technical

Place your feet under a bed or sofa etc.

Put weight on your chest and do the situps (or get someone to pull you down as you go up).

OR

Use someone to stand normally. Place your head in beween their legs so that your head is touching their ankles. Raise your feet to about their chin in height and then tell them to throw your feet down to the ground hard. Dont let them hit the ground, then pull them back up!

You will feel it in the morning!

If you don't attent a gym a good way to START working on your biceps is to get a tin of something and hold it out horizontal to your body.

So hold your arm out with the beans in your hand.

This can also be effective for people who are not new to building biceps because if you do it for long enough it really helps.

Another tip for newbies, Don't stop when it hurts. Alot of people stop when it starts hurting. When I was younger I used to of course. BUT NO, it seems obvious but alot of people do stop. You need to push as far as you mentally can.

Hope my advice helps and nice work guys ;)

That was a old dislipinary action. I'm sure it worked xD!

Another one is to side on the side of your bed or on a bench. Then place your hands on the base of your bed or on the edge of the bench (which ever you are using) then push your body off the bench but hold yourself up using your arms which are positioned on the bench/bed. Bend your arms until your body almost touches the ground then push back up again.

Oh and after you have finished got someone to place their palms on the back of your hand (each hand). Then try pushing outwards and tell him/her to push back in to try and stop you pushing out.

They asked for bodybuilding advice from a bunch of Habbos, obviously some people will try to answer and not be right but others will be right. Its up to that person to go to a bodybuliding forum but if they wish to stick with Habbox they risk getting wrong answers, if you want to correct them then I suggest you stop being rude about it.

EDIT; Also to your post above me "they say they have a ripped six pack, but dont." well, the beuty of the internet is that you can be superman. They can say whatever they like and when people like you say "oh no you dont" then it makes you look jelous and indicated that you do not have one yourself when your suppost to be this clued up person.

EDIT #2; You seem to want to tell people their wrong and correct them, to help others right? Well if you tell people they are getting no where and they aren't getting muscly did you know that lowers their self confidence and they will end up quitting the sport?
I think the specific pic you commented on had great results and was on a brilliant track.
