One large angelfish and one large silver shark. In my 90 liter tank I am only going to have large fish, so i can have decorations like boats etc so no small fish can get in there and die, which makes the water dirty. In the smaller tank I will put all the smaller fish :) Still need to set up smaller fish so for time being a picture of the tank, angelfish and shark:

please comment on what you think of it :D also sorry for bad quality. i was using a crappy camera phone :P

Cool. :) How much was the angel fish? I was thinking of buying some koi carp.

ToxicPaddy

I love koi carp but the tank is too small for it :( And the angelfish was £15, and the shark was £10 :)

That's a reasonable price tbh. How long will it live for Paddy?

ToxicPaddy
22-12-2008, 11:16 PM
Apparently it can live for up to 10 years, but thats with really great care. But usually, They live for 3-4 years :)

I love angel fish but I have several of the sharks (Same as yourn but like 2x as big) and barb fishes so I dont think it would like it. Nice tank though!
And WOW my shark cost like 3 pound, was about 2 inches when I brough, was about quiet big when it died, had it for 2 years.

I don't no but I really do want one / couple of koi fish.

Alkaz
22-12-2008, 11:23 PM
Edited ^ :P and I know you were asking wayne but I have 3 barb's, 2 gold fish and a bottom feeder. The smallest is a gold fish which is about 10cm, the rest are liek 15cm. And its only a 2' tank, I thought they only grew to the size of the tank which these lot obviously havnt aha. Ohh and I have a silver dollar, its MASSIVE it is about the size of your first finger and your thumb on both fingers put togeather to make a circle. It was literally the size of a 50p coin when we got it.

Koi, lol wayne got a lot of money to spare?

Wayne
22-12-2008, 11:24 PM
Are koi expensive? :( I got no idea.

Alkaz
22-12-2008, 11:26 PM
For small-ish I think they are about 60 pound and you will probally need a pond or a MASSIVE tank.

ToxicPaddy
22-12-2008, 11:26 PM
I really want a large silver dollar but can only find small ones. How long did it take to grow? And yes, koi are expensive:

Average koi price :(

Edit: yes you need a pond for them

I have had them since... summer holiday 2006 I think. I did have about 17 fish in my tank which has slowly gone down to half dozen or so now :P

When your fish die, do you flush them down the toilet? I never do that, I always bury them even if they're tiny because I don't like the idea of them going into the drains lol and yea.. kinda wierd people might think but I think its nice :)

And I need to find a large silver dollar fish argh any ideas?

Also you can get small angelfish for like a fiver each :)

Wayne

£5 is more my price region. :P

I think the only way you will find one is if you go to a specialist who has bred them and keeps them to sell as larger fish but I doubt you will find any. If you have brought two new fish you may aswell buy a silver dollar or a couple and let them grow up at the same time :P

And na I flush them, we had a gold fish last year that wouldnt flush, had to get a couple of buckets to dump on it LOL It was the biggest fish we have had to date.

Lol Wayne, maybe get a couple of gold fish and a cold water tank. You could probally get all set up for about 50 quid without ornaments though.

Good idea :D When all my fish die I want to get about 20 neon tetra's and a couple of silver dollars and go for a bright colour theme in the tank. At the moment it looks pretty natural.

I have like a chineese style rock/plant in the middle of my tank and my fish manage to knock it over, we are for ever having to put it back up.

Lol, any pics?

And in my smaller tank I think I should have the smaller fish which will get bigger and put them in the bigger tank. I cant put small ones in the large tank because theres big plastic plants there and sometimes before they died in there and wasnt found for days and made the water green. So I recommend if you get smaller fish don't have larger plants or ornaments where they can get stuck ;)

:P Ye that happened once to me. I tend to try and buy larger fish anyway. I hate it when you cant see fish in a tank. And maybe if you do want plants in a tank buy real ones so they can munch their way out :P + Let me find camera and I will take a couple of pics.

Wow great fish :D +rep

And I can't find a place for the tank. And why would I empty the large tank? At the moment there's only large fish in the tank. Smaller fish are in a bucket.

Also, I think the tank looks really clean :)

Ohh I thought you had small fish in the large tank and wanted to put them in a smaller tank. Just put them in the same tank, its not like they will be eaten and no large plants (From what I can see) for them to get caught up in.

And thanks :D Just put another picture in.

The large fish kept getting angry with the smaller ones, and there is one large plant that you can see in the picture of the tank. It looks much smaller in the photo but it is big :)

That's what I have atm cause this is my first time having tropical fish, I have two goldfish too but they don't get as much attention. I've got about 15 Neon Tetras, then about 5 barbs and 2 silver dollars. Atm I'm having an ongoing war with this plant-weed life that's growing in the tank. I don't know if it's some sort of algae but its like a hair or something, I just take it out but it gets all tangled in the stones.

Gonna' have a big great white sprawled out on the floor when you walk in tomorrow morning. :P

When I was younger we had a 2 metre tank in the dining room which held crabs and about 15 large tropical fish. I don't really remember it much as we got rid of it. :(

Right now we got a tiny lil' tank with a lil' gold fish. We used to have two but one died, it was suffering. The one left has actually got pretty big. I believe we got it 4 years ago now, and it's still living. Quite a lot for a fish in a tank with no filter / temperature control.

I'd love to go to back to a large tank with tropical fish when I'm older though. :)
Great pics!
