What is the best FREE internet security to date?

I want to protect one of my family members' PC to protect from viruses.
But I don't exactly want to pay.

AVG - Quite good

Avast! (http://www.avast.com) or AVG (http://free.avg.com) would be my recommendation.

NOD32 is best :P

AVG free version is pretty good too.
