So yeah, I'm 17 and was thinking about getting my ears pierced for some diamond studs. Thing is though, I don't have any piercing or anything and I was just wondering if it was a little too late to start changing my style with something like piercings.

ear piercings arn't really style-changing, maybe if you were to get your face pierced all over then maybe people would start noticing but yeah, you can if you want to, you can always take them out after a while if you dont like them

Yeah nobody really notices ear piercings. I've got 2 in my left ear and I've had it like that for about 2 years, and my girlfriend only noticed last week :eusa_clap

I had mine done when I was about 8, don't pierce it yourself, go to a chemist, they put a stud in which pierces the ear with a gun thingy and you keep it there for 6 weeks then you can put your own in. :)

Earlobes you can do yourself quite easily actually but if you want it to be straight and heal quicker then go to a piercing parlour. Preferably one that uses needles not guns because the guns aren't as good at all, but on lobes it won't matter much.

When I got it done it stung for like 20 seconds :P Is it the same as the needle? Just num it then straight through.

Why numb it lol it's nearly painless anyway and it makes the healing process take far longer. There aren't any piercings that should be numbed before sticking the needle through, if you can't take it don't get it :P and tbh for earlobes gun/needle doesn't make a massive difference but needle can be far more accurate and a cleaner hole

I got my first done at 6 and my seconds done at 9....But no, it's not too late. I'm going to wait to get my belly button pierced but I REALLY want to do it! It look superr hot, and because I'm a dancer, I can actually show it off ;)
XOXO! Hope you get it done!

personally i prefer rings, i just got horseshoe ones (http://c2.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/14/l_ef77b43a40964581a007bea09f181835.jpg) and i bloody love them
i dont think your too old. if its what you wanna get, why not?
I think that dude crying about piercings thinks it's wrong cos in most places in London if you have both ears pierced you're classed as gay or whatever, oh well I've only got left ear done anyway, I reckon two would look crap on me. :P

Ear peircings are nothing, really. If you decide you dont like them then take them out. Simple as that.

Great girlfriend she is.
you dont have to know absolutely everything about each other to have a good relationship  if something as minuscule as an ear piercing determines whether or not your partner is good, then have fun getting disappointed for the rest of your life.
and no? why would it be too late? haha, im really confused.

init they're mingin. i suppose it could be worse... it could be gold :P.

i want to get mine done, but i want to stretch mine, so id rather not wear the starter stud for like 6 weeks, they look awful :(
do you have to wear a stud when you get an ear pierced, or can you have a ring instead, does anyone know?

i dunno if you can have a ring, i think you might be able to have a tiny one. i know theres lots of different studs you can have though

24-12-2008, 11:18 PM
i think you can have whatever they put in as long as the point that goes through and stays in your ear is about the same as a stud, so you cant start on stretching of course but im sure theyd let you

it has to be real gold or silver and obviously they wont let you have some huge ring in it

Yeah it has to be real of course they wouldnt be liscensed to pierce otherwise, theyd let you have a realistic size ring in it and its probably the part that goes through and stays in your ear that matters most.

I'm also kinda worried it wouldn't suit me.

You can have rings but they tend to be heavier and obviously are more likely to catch on things so it's not recommended. As for the starter I never had one, if you get the proper piercing bars like a real parlour should use (rather than the miniscule butterfly-backed type things that you'd get from a piercing gun somewhere like Claire's Accessories) then they're usually fine and look better.
If you're having it stretched then assuming there is somewhere decent near you, you can get it pierced and stretched in one go up to a certain size. Could get it scalpelled too if you aren't wanting it absolutely massive, I know it sounds bad but apparently it's actually less painful than stretching.

Don't see the point really no piercings are really original are they and they hardly make any difference to your appearance apart from if you already look a mess they make you look even worse
