Norton is crap, could be a false positive.

Try using NOD32 (www.eset.co.uk)

Personal details such as passwords/addresses/bank details. Just incase you have a 'trojen hourse'

Uninstall Norton anti virus if you have AVG free installed. Having two anti-virus software installed can cause problems.

Ok basically if your still worried that your computer is infected with virus' I would recomend the following:

install MBAM (malwarebytes)
http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

Just the free version will be fine.
After installing make sure it is up-to-date by using the update tab :)

run a full scan, removing any infected objects...

install AVG Free
www.free.avg.com

after installing, make sure your up-to-date aswell.

go to scanning and start a full computer scan go to advanced options -> set the slider to slow scan, this will scan in more detail.

Again after the above do a quick scan with mbam just to make sure...

:) hope this helps in some form...

it may also help to empty your startup (run -> msconfig -> startup) and then reboot your pc before scanning but that is of a different matter, if you still need any assitance please don't be afraid to catch me on msn:

Running two AV's will obviously clash.

I think a donkey could have figured this out..

AV1 -> "I detect this file is infected"
AV2 -> "This file is clean"

Norton is crap, so that's obviously AV1, remove AV1 and keep AV2.

Calon, if thats in reply to my post,

MBAM = Malware removal tool
AVG = Antivirus/Antispyware

:) it's now recommended well, has been for a while, to have anti malware tool :) x
