The doctor who special disapointed me so much, they are now aiming it at children. Like please what the hell were those cyber dogs.

And the stage props they used in the factory were terrible, bloody swinging spike balls cutting through camera scenes.

I hope the predicted movie lives up to standards.

Brilliant episode.

Complete twist. Brilliant imagination by Russel T Davis.

I'm not a sci fi nerd but i ABSOLUTELY LOVE Doctor Who.

It had a brilliant twist. I'm not going to explain what happened and ruin it for those who havn't seen it.

I thought it was great, I liked the twists and references to old episodes. Voiceover, you're obviously someone who can't be pleased by new things in the Doctor Who universe, so you moan about them instead.

No, their obviously now aiming at a younger audience, They packed it to much, you couldn't follow it, It just isn't the same anymore sorry.

I know someone will probs say "Well you just don't like change" We'll i don't like a whole changed show which is nothing as creative as the other episodes.

Its the Christmas episode, its got a child following, they're not going to do anything too... adultish, its Christmas and it was a 6PM showing. come on, get real.

It was brill! One of the best Christmas specials yet!
Great storyline :)

& isn't Doctor who aimed at a younger audience in general? :\
That was the whole point of them bringing in Torchwood for the adult audience :)

Yes a giant cyberman, which I thought was pretty awesome. They've done alot worse. Youve just said that theyre taking the show in a completely wrong direction, based on one episode though?

You'd be a great critic, they're good at making half-arsed assumptions about the future of shows.

i felt dr who from christopher eccleston to david tennant was always aimed at 11-18 year olds, then torchwood 18+.

But those "monsters" were just bloody carpets with argos cyberman masks. It definately lost its creativity in this one.

the cast they hired were perfect yes, But who ever was directing the scenes needs sacking. thats my opinion.

Guess you are right the animal cybermen deserved a bit more background, that was a bit... yeah lol.

I did love who ever made the giant cyberman scene where he got sucked into the vortex or w.e it was ;D.

But they even changed the voice of the cyberman and look (not a huge change) but they made them dull and boring now.

What was the deal with that one with the brain and black helmet? That were a bit confusing too.

Yeah lmao, And the brain in the see through one looked like it was bought from asda at halloween. As i said i think the cyberman with the black face was to make young children go "Wow he looks kwl".

I thought that this 'new/other' Doctor was awful to be honest.

And the Black looking cyberman was made out to be the 'Boss' i reckon.

Inseriousity.

Agreed, he was really annoying. Although Christmas specials aren't meant to be taken too seriously (first David year and he wins with a tangerine... LOL!) so I can't say it was awful. Although yes, the 'other doctor' really annoyed me and probably ruined the episode.

personally, compared to like the end of series 4
no real action, boring, the primitive cybermen looked cool but nothing cybery, more like apes with masks.
I liked the twist with the 2nd doctor. The only real action was with the big cyberman, but seriously, THE WORST IDEA EVER. Great actors though, it was also pretty funny when they were leading up to something (eg the watch) and it turns out to be normalish :D
So it had ups and downs :)

Yeah they arn't suppose to be as serious as the series episodes. But that one just went one step to far.

It wasn't a "huge disappointment"... but for me it was a bit "meh" compared to the epic-ness of David Tennant's first Christmas special (my favourite yet).

I don't care about children being targeted; I will still enjoy Doctor Who regardless. As already mentioned in this thread, Torchwood is aimed at an older audience and I love that too.
