How much of a pain is it to organise?
My cousin gave me 36.94GB of music, 6839 songs, which is like 19 days of pure music and I'm trying to orginise it, so when in Winamp, it's easy to find a song becuase you've got like
Akon
Akon feat.
Akon feat. #1
Akon feat. #2
Akon fear. #3 and #4
etc.
It's such a pain in the ass!
iTunes annoys me the way it puts it all in folders, even though you can tell it not to but it does anyway.
But yea, it is haha

Every time I get new stuff I change the file names and listings in WMP so that it's right for how I like it organised, then if I do need to transfer it it's already sorted neatly enough. I also have playlists by genre (because I hate shuffle) so it's all quite tidy

I have it so it's like:
<Artist> - <Song> (Feat. <Feats>)
It means that when I want to listen to just Akon, all I have to is search "Akon" and I get everything under one artist.

I never put the "featuring" in the artist section, only the song section. Im not a neat freak with almost anything other than my music, haha. everything has to be perfect and have album art. And if i have one song, i have to have the entire album it's on. i cant stand to put only a few songs from an album on, its either all or nothing.

you could put it all onto an iPod, then use that PodRipper program which sorts it all out into Artist > Album ^_^

I'm the exact same, I also make iTunes encode it all to the same format if i'm downloading (for example I keep all mine at 192kbps so it's all encoded to that).

same, 'cept most of mine dont have album art cos i got bored when i did it ages ago. i have to have the title/artist right at least so it gets 'scrobbled' on last.fm, cos i'm THAT sad.

and god im the same, i get so picky with artist tags. it has to be exactly right, or it'll get scrobbled on last.fm wrong. i have a go at anyone that has incorrect tags, its an OCD of mine :(
