so im right at the start and im in the town where that nuclear bomb is and the sherrif or whatever wants you to disarm it but the other guy wants you to make it explode - whats the best to do.

If you disarm it you get a house in Megaton and get to keep the utilities such as Shop, Doctor, Repair etc.
If you blow it up you get an apartment in Tenpenny Tower and you've lost all the utilities in Megaton.
I'd disarm it, always good to have a good karma.

I didnt disarm it and when that guy tells you to blow it up go to the sherif or w,e and he gets killed get his wicked weapons

Yeah, talk to mr burke, he tells you to blow it up, go back to the sheriff, He'll go to arrest Mr Burke, mr burke will shoot him, you shoot mr burke and you get an chinese assalt rifle and a silenced 10mm and some other stuff to sell

Yes but some decisions have good and bad pay-offs.
Some good more than bad and vice versa.

I disarmed it, ratted on Burke and popped him one before Lucas Simms could get killed.

If you are going to blow it up I recommend killing everyone and getting the items in it + do the side quest as it is worth 20g.
