In the shops I've been in, mostly clothes stores, they are selling things 50% off and that. Stores that sell DVDs, video games and that aren't reducing prices that much though unfortunately.
Edit: Although Gamestation yesterday had some reduced games, such as about £5-£15 off.

I went in gamestation and the deals weren't very good?
River Island and Topman had like 3 racks of sale rubbish then the rest was normal price.

The sales get on my nerves anyway, its all rubbish stuff they put out that they couldn't sell before (particularly clothes shops) and all left-over clothes from the summer etc, and if there is any decent items, you have to get there mega early just to try find them.
The pushing and shoving is pathetic as well, I remember last year there was a sales assistant in the news because some woman (customer) bit her for whatever reason.
Roll on the end of sales lol
(thats my rant for the day:D)

The sales have been on for ages, its just now you notice there isn't much left. The place I work put out a whole floor of sale stuff on the 26th, its 2 days later and we're already running low on some stuff. River Island's got no good stuff anymore where I am, and yeah... lol

We had a sale saturday, hardly anything left today.
Infact not enough stock left we've had to relaunch full price again.

Yeah I went into River Island which is next door to us, its about the same. Its maddd!!!
Bets are though, in January/Feb, loads of big names are going out of business. I'd actually bet money on things like that.

There is no such thing as a sale. It's just a word to get you to shop there :D.

If that's the case, what is the term they use to describe it when they reduce prices on their products?

Almost every shop has a sale on here in Florida right now.
Surprisingly, Disney are actually selling some things off. 50% off all Christmas items, mugs and ornaments. 40% off all t-shirts and hats.
Converse have a sale on too. 3 shirts for $25, but that's been going on for a while now.

Technically, he's right.. All shops have items on sale... So you could go to sainsburys and find a bag of sugar and say "oh look, it's on sale"...
