I got the G1 and its amazing, before, I thought it was crap etc etc.. but once you get loads of Applications installed its one of the most powerfull phones out there, I know a program called "ShopSavvy" has saved me a lot of money, you scan a barcode, or search for the name of the item and it finds the cheapest price in shops near you and on the internet <3

Best of all 99% of the apps are free and only about 2% of them are completely useless! LOL

Weeeeell, the iPhone stars at a £30 contract for crap minutes and texts, so the next good one is £35. Even then, you have to pay for the phone and you can only get it on 18 months tariffs, so that might be a little difficult.

Not sure about the others, but a bit of investiagation is worth a shot!

You won't get any of those on a 6 month term.

Blackberry Storm is Vodafone only, so that's straight off the list unfortunately :P

HTC Touch HD isn't out on contract yet I believe but it'll be vastly expensive when it is, a lot more than the iPhone and G1 I imagine.

Go for the G1 it has a physical keyboard making it much easier to text and email, it's also got the wonderful Android OS and I think it's also got free gmail access which is perfect for emailing.

But you can link your G-Mail and ANY other type of email on the iPhone ^^

My friend has a G1 and I have an iPhone - I like them equally but I have to stick up for my wonderful gadget :P

My friend has a G1 and I have an iPhone - I like them equally but I have to stick up for my wonderful gadget :PGmail on Android is how Google meant Gmail to be used, it's not the same experience using IMAP. The Gmail application has all the advanced features you get using it on a computer, not to mention you get free access to it with a T-Mobile G1 contract, not sure if the iPhone does that.
