It's rough mate. I would not go out at night, I went there when I watched City. A youth got stabbed and a gunshot was fired. It's full of youths coming out of clubs high off there asses and up for a fight. I would not have any valuables on show.

At night people come out and mug you, you could possibly get raped or even worse. But if you stick to your hotel, and don't wonder the streets you SHOULD be ok

I am not liable for anything that may happen to you during your stay in the city of London. Terms and conditions apply

Nah london isn't bad, I was there today and its full of foreigners, so make sure you have a spanish translation book ready

Taxi you'll get ripped off and it could be fake, meaning a gang member will be driving and make you pay a ransom.
Bus you could get mugged.

I'd drive mate.

I'd hire a taxi from a well known company, get the number and order a taxi to go there. Then ring the number and order a taxi for the end. Don't get one off the street.

Taxi, you always get people who start on the busses and try and act big, cabs aren't really to expensive. :P

London has official city cabs, the big dark green ones, all over the place. You could also get the tube from near your hotel to covent garden. The hotel site says it's 10 minutes walk from the west end so it's not going to really be rough or rapey unless you plan on going south of the thames or somewhere like soho.

The south isnt that bad. :(

Tbh, Covent Garden is absoloutly fine. Its a touristy area and there will be lots of people out because its new years. Where are you going to watch fireworks? Over the river? Because I'm gonna be there :P

Jeesuz man, he's in the west end, i've passed that place many times cos I live in London and I can tell you that if you want rough then you should go and stay in harlesden. If you're with a mate then you'll be fine. I think the german winter fair in hyde park is still on, that will be worth it!

Erm no it's not that rough. People make out for it to be much worse than it is. Regarding the streets, you should be fine. Hundreds of thousands of other people go to Westminster to watch the fireworks and tons of people will be out.

London ain't bad but it depends on what area you live.

I suggest you don't go out at night and shop at a busy street although it won't help much, its still a tonne better.
oh edit; your either already there/gone. hm.

tbh common sense is the only important thing u need when ur in a big city like london

ur only gonna get mugged if you're walking down a dark alley with your phone lit up like a christmas tree and if you have something like an ipod out, and maybe if you have a nice watch on show. just keep them hidden and only use them when neccessary and nothing will happen to u
