I'm a noob to this sort of technology so yeah: as I'm getting an iPhone i need some quick help.

1. What is jailbreaking?

2. What is the best case if I drop my phone alot?

Thanks, +rep to everyone who helps.

Jailbreaking it is by means of 'hacking' it in some form. You are breaking out of the set means it was programmed to do, for example setting it to go on pay as you go and not a contract. And allowing other things to be placed on it. Not that tech, but my way of explaining it.

The plastic covers or the rubber ones, dependent on what you want it to look like and price.

The first ones where not though. You could add applications on it, games, video, allsorts. However the 3G features these and so Jailbreaking the 3G seems pointless to me. Unless of course you wanted to get it cheaper by some means.
