A series of bomb attacks on London's transport network has killed more than 30 people and injured about 350 others.

Blasts occurred:

Between Aldgate East and Liverpool Street tube stations
Between Russell Square and King's Cross tube stations
At Edgware Road tube station
On bus at Tavistock Square

Bus services have resumed in central London (Zone One) with diversions in affected areas. Most mainline train stations are open.

54 state schools were closed in Westminster.

One caller to BBC Five Live said his friend had seen "the bus ripped open like a can of sardines".

Mobile phone services across London were jammed with all major networks reporting problems as people tried to contact relatives and friends.

The crosses show where the explosions took place

Is there any other species on the planet that feels the need to blast each other to smithereens for absolutely no reason at all. Is there any reason why we cannot leave peacefully side by side? Why does religion interfere and cause so much death and maiming?

RIP to those who died in these cowardly attacks.

Religion is just an excuse, and a poor one at that. So many religions have similar if not the same ideas, and many of their beliefs and teachings have the same messages. I think i'm right by saying that many religions teach their followers to respect the beliefs and ideas of others - so if they think their religion instructs them to be terrorists, they're very very wrong. Sick.
I've got Sky News on in the background, it's all so horrible. :(

All I can think of to say is, R.I.P all those who have died.
And I wish a speedy recovery to those who are injured, and I send my love to those who have lost a loved one.

Well said, "me too" to all of that!
I'm not normally the praying type, but at times like this, i can't help but change.

I hate to sound mean here, but looking at the photo I added of the bus, I doubt anyone survived that explosion, perhaps a few maybe.

Actually, it's still officially 37 +2 for the bus. Courtesy of BBC News, and Sky News.
The French guy is some form of politician - highly likely he's more intelligent than you... ...and he probably doesn't viciously attack his shift key.
