View Full Version : Mountain Dew - COMING BACK TO THE UK!

Well, many people have been waiting for this for a very long time.

In October 2008, it was announced that Pepsi would be redesigning their logos and re-branding many of their core products by the end of 2008. At the same time they registered the name "mtn dew" and a related logo (see below) with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.[3]. This also announced the re-launch of Mountain Dew in the UK, which was dropped by Pepsi in 1998 as 'sales were not as good as anticipated'

There's a market stall in Coventry which sells cans for £1.10 each, I guess that's gonna go outa business.
Apparently they also sell it in the Birmingham Waitrose already and have done for some time?

Ah well, it's all I lived on in New York so I'm well up for this.

xxMATTGxx
01-01-2009, 07:05 PM
Some places like small town shops or whatever you wanna call them. Sell it, but around where I live no one sells it. So hopefully if its true and Pepsi (pls do), bring it back over to the UK. I can pick it up from Tesco :D

It's been banned in the UK for ages due to it's high sugar levels. Looking forward to it coming back though.

It's been banned in the UK for ages due to it's high sugar levels. Looking forward to it coming back though.I haven't heard that before but I just went and checked a 250ML can of Red Bull has 10g of Sugar from I can tell and a 365ML can of Mountain Dew has 40g of Sugar...

Edit: Red Bull is actually 10g of Sugar per 100ML so it's only slightly less than Mountain Dew which makes me doubt your claim.

xxMATTGxx
01-01-2009, 07:59 PM
Mountain Dew has for a long time had two sides why it disappeared from the UK. 1. Due to not selling well back then. or 2. Due to what's it made off e.g sugar levels. I go with the first one to be honest.

I work in stock control in my local Tesco. If I see any sitting in the warehouse/on the system I'll make sure to post =]

Thanks :)

It won't be yet, it will just come in and then you will be hosted with a SEL, Plus stock controllers won't be able to check via progress or the new incarnation of progress

Go back to Job 14 ;)

I know Middlewich and Croydon DC's will be ones to check as they have all the drinks etc

Mountain Dew is soda water all sickly in my opinion

Aha, if you're familiar with us Job14ers you must understand we sit in the Stock Control office doing sweet nothing preferring to read the random piles of paper work =]

And I've moved off it onto Provisions now, but seeing as it was my old department I always seem to get stuck on it.

Dear Matthew

Thank you for your e-mail regarding the availability of Mountain Dew.

Unfortunately Mountain Dew is not available in the United Kingdom, and currently there are no plans to introduce it here.

Pah, they're too lazy :P The first and last pages are the ones that people really should read before posting :P

Mountain Dew was rather skanky, and that's the American one! It'll be a bad move on Britvic's part to sell it.

Mountain Dew is soo nice, much better than 7up. I e-mailed them last year and got the same reply back :( We don't have a very intresting range of products in the UK by Pepsi/Britvic. I wouldn't mind some Pepsi Blue either. I used to buy it from American Soda but not really worth all that money.
